CHAPTER FOUR

Mia sighed as she got to him, he turned to her. "What do you want, Mia?" He took a deep breath and turned around too her.

"I just wanted to make sure you were okay after what happened." Mia says slowly to Jess.

"I don't need your help, Mia. I don't understand what you want from me. If you're looking to get something from me or have something with me, it's never gonna happen. Nothing's ever gonna happen with us." Jess said aggressively. Truth be told, he wished things were different with her. But he pushed away anything he liked and he liked her.

"Look, I don't care whether you want me or not. It's not about this. But Rory and Dean are meant to be together and she's never gonna like you." Mia shook her head. "You're not going to come in here like a train, destroying everything in your path. You shouldn't have ever come here, Jess." She stormed off. She was so angry. Fuck the first instinct shit. She thought she had it and went against everything she knew for him to insult her in the middle of town squares.

"I'm sorry." He mumbled under his breath as he watched her walk back to her house. It didn't matter anymore. She was gone.

When Mia arrived home, she gave short words to her parents or younger sister and didn't eat a single thing. She just went upstairs and started working on some homework to get her mind off of everything. She sat on her bed with the white canopy that hung over her bed shut and only the lamps on both sides of her bed on.

Mia heard a slight knock and quickly responded. "What?" She raised her voice, really hoping it wasn't one of her parents because then she would have to apologize for the disrespect she showed. Luckily it was just her annoying and clingy twin brother. She loved him but he really needed to butt out right now.

"How was dinner?" Dean asked and Mia still didn't raise her eyes to look up at him, just focused on writing something in her notebook.

"Fine. Don't worry, everything is fine with you and Rory. I didn't tell her that you just ditched because you thought she was mad at you." Mia rolled her eyes, still looking down at the notebook.

"What is wrong with you? Did something happen?" Dean asked, sitting on her bed in front of her.

"No. I'm fine. I'm just focused, okay? We'll talk tomorrow." Mia snapped. Dean took a deep breath, part of him knew that she was upset and didn't want her to go through it alone. But he knew she wasn't gonna open up easily, she bottled up her feelings despite how much her family cared.

"Okay." Dean shrugged and stood up. "Just, let me know if you need anything." He said, shutting the bedroom door.
