"So...pup, what do you want to do now, since everyone is gone?"

I turned to look up at Liam, who was closing the main doors of the mansion. I shrugged and made my way over to the couches. Liam followed behind and joined me in sitting.

I stared blankly at the man before me and I somehow had a feeling I was making him very uncomfortable right now. It was honestly giving me some unruly ideas to mess with the Beta of the Dark Lake Pack.

If Tanner insisted that I was safer staying back. I needed to find a way to amuse myself and keep myself busy for the time being, until he comes back.

"Hey, um...Liam?" I smirked.

"Hmm?" Liam replied.

"Would you like to play a game?"

"What kind of game we talkin'-bout?"

"Just a friendly game of "chase"..."

"Chase?...I don't know, Tanner was clear about making sure you were kept safe and I really don't want to hear the big man himself scream his lungs out at me, if he were to find even a single scratch on you..."

"Oh, don't worry about your mighty alpha...I'll take care of it, if it so happens he rashes his rage onto his beta."

"Its a no, Lance, and wait, how did you know I was the beta of the pack?"

"Lucky guess?" I grinned. "now can you please play the game with me?"

"I said, no."

"Fine, we don't have to play the game, it's literally the only thing that'll help keep me preoccupied, while waiting for your pack to come back...unless you're too chicken to revolt against your own alpha."

I smirked and was about to rise up off the couch, when Liam's voice suddenly broke out.

"What did you just call me?" he grunted.

"You heard me loud and clear, Liam, you're probably too chicken to do anything that you might think the alpha wouldn't approve of you doing, even just playing a friendly game of chase." I smirked.

"I'll show you, who's chicken..., out in the back yard now, pup!" Liam ordered.

"Splendid."

I smiled and followed Liam from behind, as we made our way to the back doors. A previous memory popped up in my mind as a visual picture reminded me of the frightening moment I was caught here by Tanner when I tried to run away and had an alpha order placed on me after, which prevented me from moving.

My whole body shivered from the gruesome memories of it all. I now made myself used to the idea of not getting on Tanner's bad side anymore, since I already accepted him as my mate. Little ole' Lance running away from the big bad wolf was no more, but a reminder of me being stubborn and heartless towards someone who didn't have a choice in choosing his own soul mate in life, but ended up having fate choosing it for him.
