Chapter 8

Tomas' P.O.V

Peace. Love. Happiness.

The three things that money cannot buy, and yet, these three things are the hardest to obtain in life. Now, while money cannot get you peace, love, and happiness, these are the things you have to fight for the most. So what gives you peace, love, and happiness, all at once, for free? Nothing. Right? Right.

Now think about this, how is it that seeing one person can change the way you see the world with only one look? One-touch? One conversation? One caress? This brings the following questions: Does love at first sight exist? Can you love a person without really knowing them yet? Is love as strong as you always hear it is? Is love truly blind?

Then you meet this one person who just rocks your world without so much as a glance and you just know. You know this is the person you will spend the rest of your life with. This person gives you the three things without even talking to you, without glancing at you, they don't even acknowledge you, and yet, you feel a strong connection with this person. All you want is to hold them and shower them with all the love and affection you were never given.

Then you finally get to have them. You get to hold them and you get to kiss them and show them how much you already love them within the mere seconds of just meeting them. You're finally happy.

Then the unthinkable happens.

They get ripped away from your arms. They get taken away over an awful reason. So now, you no longer have a reason to live. Now you have nothing to fight for. So you set a goal for yourself, you tell yourself that you'll get your person back. You're hellbent on finding them because you physically cannot live without this person.

Believe it or not, I experienced all this in just one day. I met the love of my life, finally found some peace in my messed up life, felt happy for the first time in my life, and she got taken from me.

Jessica Wilson.

Only the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. According to the background check James did on her, she's a twenty-three-year-old female, 5'1 feet tall, and she's mixed. White and Puertorican. She's had a hard life. Her parents disowned her at the age of eighteen and sent her to live off with her twenty-eight-year-old brother, Raymond Wilson. A thirty-three-year-old Puertorican male who currently owns his own engineer company. He started as a nobody in the engineering business, but with time and some help from Jacob's company, he became the best, well known, engineer in the country.

Jessica has an Obsessive-compulsive disorder. She has struggled with it since she was ten years old, her parents got her in therapy to see if she would "get better" as they like to put it. However, as the years passed, she only got worse. In the beginning, she only kept her room and herself clean, however, as she grew older, she started to clean everything around her. It got so bad that at the age of eighteen, her parents put her in a mental hospital because they thought that the doctor would "cure" their daughter.

When Raymond heard about it, he was furious. He got her out of their parents' house and moved her to a small cabin in the middle of nowhere. There, he got the best therapists to help his sister and since then, she has been able to control her compulsions with little things she can do when she's alone and that would help ground her.

Even with all of that, I love her. I see her as the most beautiful creature to ever walk this earth. She has the softest hair I've ever touched. Her blush makes her seem adorable and those eyes of hers. Those eyes make me want to fall to my knees and give her all she could ever want. Nobody will love her the way I will. I will make sure of that.

She was taken away from under my nose. I should have protected her better. This is all my fault. I shouldn't have been as forward as I was. I should've taken it slow. Show her I'm not as bad as I seem. This is all my fault, but I will fix it. I will get her back and do things as I should have in the beginning. Nobody will stop me from getting back what rightfully belongs to me. I will get my Jessica back. I will get my little mouse back.

Jacob's P.O.V

"Anything?" I ask as I walk into James' room. He has been trying to trace the bitch's footsteps for an entire month and hasn't found anything, which is ridiculous because James is the best hacker/technician in the world.

"Nothing yet. Whoever they're with knows how to hide their tracks. It's almost as if it was me who made the shield around this person's information." He says distractedly.

If this person was powerful enough to get someone better than James to cover their tracks, which is highly unlikely, then that means this person has more power than I do. This is also highly unlikely. I own this country. So, the only reasonable answer I can come up with is that the person we're looking for is not a stranger. The person we're looking for is a friend. A very close one if James was the one to cover their tracks and information.

"Have you done the background check on them yet?" I asked him and he responded with a nod and handed me the files. As I look through Jessica's file, a piece of information stands out to me. "Go through Ray's information and latest places he drove from and to in last month."

He does as told and prints a sheet of paper with Raymond's latest whereabouts. I move to sit on his bed as I read through Raymond's information.

Raymond is a very close friend of mine and Cole's. We met him in college. We were all in the same business class looking to build our businesses. We all had different ambitions. Cole wanted to go into marketing and build a business that would help small businesses around the country. I wanted to go into finance and build my own trade business while Raymond wanted to become the greatest engineer ever known. I helped him with the growth of his business, which made him the best engineer in the country. Now, he's working to become the best in the world.

If these women are with Raymond, It'll be easier to find them then I anticipated. I think it is about time we rain check that lunch meeting we had scheduled.
