Resistance

Must have been 25 people on that ship, including me. I knew all of them wanted to be there, and I knew if I had a chance in life, it was here. So why was I so afraid? I wasn't used to the First Order wanting me dead, so maybe that was it. As I stroked Roses's hair, I knew I had something new on my hands. We were never allowed relationships of any kind as a stormtrooper. It was definitely a new thing for me and I knew something was going on between Poe and Rey. At least, Poe didn't just want something plutonic between him and Rey. If it was new for me, I had no idea what it might be like for Rey. She had probably never even heard of something like this before. I didn't want Poe to harm Rey in any way and I knew he wouldn't. But that didn't stop me worrying. "What's happening?" I smiled and turned around.

"Connix." She nodded.

"Congratulations. You figured out my name." I smirked.

"Careful. You don't wanna Leia to hear you saying that." She laughed.

"Oh no." She clapped her hands to her face in mock horror. "I can't even begin to imagine the terrors that may befall me." A Twi'lek walked up to her and whispered in her ear and grinned nervously. She whispered back and the Twi'Lek scampered away. I looked at her curiously. "What was that about?" She rolled her eyes at me and sat down on the side of Rose's bed. She sighed and looked at me. "How long is it gonna take you to remember this time." I strained to remember but failed and she laughed at me. "I'm a lesbian." At this point, I was even more confused as to what one of those was and this only made her laugh harder. "Ugh." She rolled her eyes again and scoffed. "I like girls."

"Oh." She pushed her hair back and walked off, disappearing around a corner. I walked off, trying to find Rey or Poe but instead finding a pilot, bent over in hysterics, leaning against the wall. I turned around and saw the back of Poe disappearing into the crowd. I chased after him and found him looking like he might just tear someone's head off in a gap in the crowd. I looked in the direction he appeared to be staring and saw Rey being hoisted onto the crowd's shoulders. He was glaring for some unknown reason and disappeared into the bunks a second later, leaving me standing there, very confused. There was a small part of me that wanted to go and see Rey and see how she was faring after Crait, but I decided that Poe probably needed my help a little more than Rey did at the moment. Unfortunately, I had taken so long making my mind up, that by the time I had made my slow way down into the bunks, Poe was already asleep, exhausted by the events of the day. I made my way out and joined Rey, who was still on the shoulders of the crowd, who were hailing her as their lord and saviour, which, I suppose, was not that far from the truth. The party dragged on and eventually, people began to retreat into their respective bunks and I made my way over to Rey. "Way to make an entrance." She smiled and laughed a little. "Do you know any new plans?" She shook her head and shrugged.

"No. Don't know any more than you do." She grinned apologetically and I sighed, disappointed at the lack of information. "Damn. What do you think's going to happen next?" We passed another hour or two just discussing future plans for the resistance before departing for the bunks. I was awoken early the next morning by Poe as he walked out. I got up, rubbing the sleep from my eyes and stretched. I walked out and saw Poe staring at Rey and suddenly it all made sense. Why he was acting so weird last night. Why he was in such a hurry to get to sleep. Maybe he liked Rey. I wasn't quite sure how to react or feel because, simply put, nothing like this had ever happened to me. Sure, I had heard of things out of the stormtrooper life, if you could even call it that, but I had no idea that they were this... complicated. I busied myself with cooking some rations and waited, sat at the bootable, for their conversation to finish. Fortunately, I was not sat there for long before Connix came and joined me. "How did it go with that Twi'lek?" I asked, grinning at her. "You have no idea what that means, don't you?" I shrugged and she smirked. "It was fine, thank you for asking." I gestured at her to go on, but she just stared blankly back. I sighed and she looked even more questioningly at me. At this point, neither of us had any idea what we had been talking about, and the conversation gradually sloped into incoherence. Leia called for everyone's attention and we gathered around her, eager to hear what she had to say. "Commander Dameron and Rey will be scouting out an old CIS base on Felucia. I understand some of you may not necessarily want to ally yourselves with the CIS, but as of this moment in time, it's the best option we have, so if you want to leave, go ahead and do it now. Nobody will stop you." No one moved an inch. "Thank you. If all goes well, we will be settled in by tomorrow evening." This caused a loud cheer and Leia nodded and disappeared back into the cockpit to speak with Chewbacca, who had been almost silent since Luke's death.

I looked over and saw Poe and Rey completely immersed in conversation and smiled to myself. Perhaps Rey was in good hands after all. A sudden jolt rocked the ship and we came out of hyperspace above Felucia. I remembered it vaguely from years ago when I had passed it on my way to a training facility on Ryloth. There was a general movement and people began to move about, headed towards their stations. We landed a couple of minutes later in a small clearing and Rey and Poe got out. Leia went out to talk to Poe and stayed there for a while. I took the opportunity to go and speak to Rey, who was pacing on the side of the grove, absently mindedly kicking a clump of luminescent fungi. "How you holding up?" I asked. She shrugged and looked up, meeting my eyes. "I'm fine. Is Poe normally like this though? He doesn't sound like the guy you told me about." I raised my eyebrow.

"What do you mean?" She sighed.

"He's stuttering a lot, he keeps going red for no reason. He's acting weird." I was barely concealing a grin at this point and was trying my utmost not to laugh. "I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. Hang on. Leia's calling me. I'll see you soon then." She nodded and smiled and I walked back to the falcon, Leia watching me as I walked. The ramp closed behind me and the ship took off. I found Connix and grinned, beckoning for her to come over. "Apparently Poe's been acting weird around Rey." Connix smirked.

"Well well well. Looks like someone has a few feelings for someone else." I laughed and walked off into the bunks to sleep until we landed. I opened the door and smoke flooded my lungs and clouded my eyes. I spluttered and staggered forward, growing accustomed to what I soon found to be smoking spice. I cleared it out and was about to leave when I heard whispers from the other side of the room. "What do you think Clydel?"

"I don't know. It's a bit risky."

"I don't care. If we don't, we're never going to be able to beat the First Order."

"But mutiny is a little extreme, wouldn't you say?"
