Frozen and unmoving.
Time was still.
Eyes locked together, staring deeply as if searching for the other's soul. Amy barely registered the other man sitting on a splintered chair across from Prisha, only a chair separating them.
Prisha broke eye contact. Amy felt this weird sensation, a feeling like victory, as if she had somehow beaten Prisha in something.
She found herself staring intently at the second man. He was younger than Dave, soft brown hair cut to a nice length. His bright blue eyes were piercing and Amy found herself getting lost in them. He really was very good looking. And he was looking at her too....
She was pulled back into the present by the sound of Dave's voice.
"Wait... Do you two know each other?"
"Yeah" Amy and Prisha mumbled in unison, both staring intently at the floor. Amy was wishing it would just swallow her whole so she didn't have to spend another moment here. The tension in the air could be cut with a knife. Luckily for Amy, Dave broke the silence, again.
"So, shall we get down to business? You ladies applied for a job working for Harry Styles as his personal assistant, am i correct?"
Both Amy and Prisha nodded, confused. Amy couldn't help feeling unease as Dave continued.
"Well, you two are officially the dumbest people I have ever met." Dave told them bluntly. "You must be really stupid if you honestly think that Harry Styles would advertise for a personal assistant anonymously on a job site. He's a millionaire for Christ's sake, and already has people working for him."
Shocked, the girls sat. Realisation washed over them that this was all a setup. No Harry Styles. No job. Stunned they remained stock still, unable to function.
Suddenly, Dave started to laugh! He was laughing but it was a laugh full of spite, a laugh that said, "I am better than you."
Amy was rarely scared, but this situation was unnerving and she was sweating. She looked to Prisha for reassurance, but knew she wasn't one to stay at all calm in bad situations.
"So why are we here then?" Prisha probed, masking her fear surprisingly well, but Amy could tell hear the slight unease laced through her voice. She hoped Dave and Mystery Hottie couldn't tell.
He really was so fit. At that moment, he stretched up and Amy caught a glimpse of his abs. He was so muscular and Amy found herself drooling slightly. Snap out of it. They seem like bad people. She told herself.
Dave continued. "The two of you have unknowingly signed up to work for us, as trained assassins. Finn here will be your mentor for the next three months, and after that time, only one of you will be recruited to work for us indefinitely. You must not tell anyone about this, we have cover stories prepared for the both of you. Am I understood?"
The best the girls could do was nod, shell shocked and scared.

After a few minutes of thinking, Amy spoke up. "And what do we get out of this?"
"Well, it's the first three months are just training so you will only be rewarded a small upfront payment of £2,500."
Amy felt her jaw drop. Over two thousand pounds! There was no decision to make anymore, this was too big of an opportunity to pass up.
"I'm in." She stated.
"Me too." Said Prisha, rising of the couch.
"You both will start training tomorrow, meet here at 8am, where Finn will take you to the training ground. Your training will commence everyday except for Sundays. It will test you physically, mentally, and possibly even emotionally. You will be pushed to your limits, and remember, only one of you will come out on top."
Silence.
"I will see you at the end of each week to give you feedback, and Finn will be continuously updating me on both your progress. You are both dismissed, and remember, not a word to anyone about any of this."

Before she left, Amy risked one more look at Finn, who caught her gaze and winked at her. She thought she was going to faint, but knew she couldn't fall for Finn, he was her mentor.
As they exited the building in silence, Amy and Prisha gave each other a look neither had seen the other give before. A look that established that their friendship would never be the same, but Amy already knew this. Prisha had lied to her and she had lied to Prisha.
They were no longer friends, now competitors.
