The Phone Call

I called the number for a taxi and told them to be at the house in 45 minutes and gave them the address for the scuba-diving place. As I was hanging up the phone Sam came into the living-room and asked “Who was that babe?”

"Just the taxi people. I wanted them to be here when we are ready and I already gave them the address for the place we are going to so you and Ricky won’t find out.”

“Oh you're slick but very smart.” We started laughing and he sat down on the couch and pulled me onto his lap. My phone started ringing and the song What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction started playing. I didn’t remember setting that as anyone’s ringtone so I looked at the caller id and it said Austin. Sam looked at me confused “One sec I have to answer this.” I said as I got up and answered it and I leaned over the back of the couch and gave Sam a quick kiss and then ran to the room and shut the door.

J: Hello

A: Is this Janna?
J: Yeah. Is this Austin?
A: Yeah
J: And may I ask why you are calling me?
A: Well to be honest. I have been thinking about you a lot over the past 4 years
J: And?
A: Well have you forgiven me from what I did to you in 9th grade?
J: Are you being serious right now??
A: Of course I’m being serious.
J: Well you answer one thing for me.  Would you forgive someone you were madly in-love and y’all were together for almost 3 years and they then turned around and cheated on you. And with all the stuff that had already happened to you in your past life, the fact that the person you loved cheated on you and that lead you into deeper depression and cutting and you almost bleed out because the blade slipped and went way too deep and you almost died. Would you seriously forgive them?
A: Well I didn’t know that
J: Just answer the question
A: Well if I really love them. Then yes

J: Okay. Then and just because I’m a new person I will forgive you
A: Omg thank you.
J: Whatever. I know you didn’t just call to see if I forgave you. What did you call me for?
A: You're right. Well I was wondering what you were doing this Friday night?
J: I have plans
A: Okay well how about next Friday?
J: Okay. I guess you haven’t heard yet and I’m pretty sure nobody in Forney or even my family have. But I’m married now and I’m actually on my honeymoon right now. And I swear if you tell any of those basterds you will get hurt because I didn’t tell anyone I didn’t want to know. And I know that you are still good friends with my whole family.
A: Wow. You didn’t have to call them that
J: Well its true and you know it. Considering you know my whole life story up to 9th grade.
A: That part is true. And I swear to you that I won’t mention it to anyone.
J: Thanks and I’m sorry I was being a bitch
A: Its fine. When do you get home from your honeymoon?
J: Well in two weeks.
A: Okay so when can I come over to meet the lucky guy who got to marry the only person I have ever been in-love with
J: Actually I don’t think that will be anytime soon
A: And whys that?
J: Because we live in LA with some of the greatest people I have ever meet
A: Oh well that sucks
J: It does for you because I am really happy now
A: And I am happy that you are happy and I really want to see you
J: Thanks and that won’t happen because I don’t want to see you.
A: That was kinda mean
J: And I don’t care if that was mean. Because you were a huge dick and I hope you know that
A: I noticed that when I kissed that girl and I am really sorry
J: Whatever and I gtg back to my husband now and you need to move on please and find someone new
A: But there is nobody else in this world that can add up to even ¼ a person you are
J: That’s the worst pick-up-line I have ever heard. Bye have a great day
A: You too. I love you (he said in a low voice thinking I wouldn’t hear him)

“UGGGH I hate him so much!!” I yelled as I looked at the time “Omg I was on the phone with him for 30 minutes.” I said as I got up and walked quickly to the living room. I then saw that Sam and Ricky were talking.

I sat down next to Sam and he said “You were gone for a long time. Who was that?”

I took a deep breath and said “It was my ex-boyfriend who cheated on me in 9th grade. Do you remember me telling you that?”

“Of course I remember that he was the one that lead to harm yourself right.” I nodded and he asked “What did he want?”

“He wanted to know if I forgave him and if so when could he see me. It kinda flipped a switch in me and I was really mean. I then told him that we was never gonna see me because I was married and on my honeymoon and when I get back I am going to LA and living there.”

“Oh well are you okay?”

“Yeah I’m fine. We should make sure that we are ready to go the taxi should be here by now.” They got up and made sure they had their phones and I grabbed my purse and we walked out the door and into the taxi. The driver then drove us to our destination and we got out.

“Omg we are going scuba diving?” Ricky asked.

I nodded and we walked into the store and I said to the guy at the register “We are here for our lesson with Amy, Ben and John.”

The guy nodded and said “If you will, please follow me.” We follow him to a room in the back and there was two guys and a girl I assumed they were Amy Ben and John.

“Hi. I’m Amy.” The girl said. She had soft brown eyes and long brown hair pulled up in a pony-tail.

“I’m Ben.” One of the guys said and he had dark black hair with dark brown eyes.

And the last one had blue eyes with blonde hair said “Hi and I’m John.”

We introduced ourselves and Amy said “Well lets go grab your wetsuits and we will go.”We followed her to the opposite side of the room and she then said “We only wear black ones because its harder for the fish and sharks to detect. Janna will a 5’6 and a small in frame. Ricky will need a 6’1 and a medium frame. Sam will need a 5’8 and a medium frame. We will also need to get 10lbs of weights for each of the boys and 20lbs of weights for Janna. We use weights so that you will sink below the surface. The only reason the boys need less is because they weigh more than Janna does so she needs more.”

She handed us our suits and our weights and Ben says “Okay so now we go outside to the boat and then we go to the remote spot and then there we have the rest of the lesson.  And then y’all get to hit the water. Sound fun.” We nodded and went to the boat.
