6 ~ Hellhound

Will sat next to Nico as he ate his lunch. The demigod kept thinking about what Will had said, "Nico, you do know these people don't hate you, right? They're all your friends."

Maybe, he was right? Nico didn't know, he was just glad to have someone to talk too. As he finished up my sandwich, he asked the son of Apollo, 'Hey Solace, you think I could visit Piper?'

'Piper? Sure, why not?' He said, taking the plate and setting it on the table. He stood up and took Nico's hand. As Nico's skin came into contact with his, the Italian knew he wasn't going to let go this time. He didn't care if the whole camp looked at them, not anymore.

Well, he still cared. Nico had always been insecure, but... now, he felt as if he was slowly learning to be himself.

The two walked out of the infirmary and as they approached the Aphrodite Cabin, Percy saw the duo and smiled a proud smile. Why? Because Nico was going to be ok. He knew it. 

Will knocked on the door and one of the Aphrodite kids, Mitchell, Nico thought opened up the door. 'Hey Will, what's up?' He asked, smiling. The boy's brown hair was parted at the side, a single black stud decorating his ear.

'We're looking for Piper. Any idea where she is?'  

'She's at the edge of the forest, patrolling.'

'Alright, thanks man.' Will replied as Mitchell smiled at the two, feeling the love radiating off of them and closed the door.

Will turned towards Nico and said, 'Let's go.'

The son of Hades nodded and they made their way to Camp Half-Blood Forest. On our walk over there, Nico had time to think. Think about Will, to be specific. 

Will is so much more handsome than Mitchell. I know that Mitchell can radiate beauty and all, but still. Will's just-

'Alright, I see Piper over there. I'll be at the archery fields if you need me. Ask Piper to come over with you, I don't want to get into trouble with Chiron for letting you out of my supervision.' Will said, cutting off the other boy's thoughts. 

Nico quickly said yes and ran off to his friend as Will gazed at the boy who had stolen his heart. Sighing, he turned back and walked over to the archery fields.

'Hey Piper.' Nico said, greeting Piper.

'Hey Nico, what's up?' She asked but then shook her head, smirking. 'Wait, never mind. I know.'

'You d-do?'

'Duh! Will... you like him, don't you?' Piper said, fixing the feather in her choppy brown hair as her smirk grew.

Nico could feel himself blush as the blood rose to his cheeks. 'Nico, don't even try to deny it.' The daughter of Aphrodite said, pinching his cheek.

'I won't.' 

'Good, now what did you want to talk to me about?'

'I just don't know what to do.'

'Well, ask him out, you idiot.'

'A-ask him w-what?'

'Gods, Nico. You're so oblivious, Will likes you too.'

'W-What?" The brown-eyed boy asked, dumbfounded.

'He does, now are you going to-' Piper said, but she was cut off by a scream in the woods. A demigod's. 

Piper ran into the forest, her dagger in hand. Nico ran in with her, but he knew he was dead weight, he didn't have his Stygian sword, nor did he have enough energy to summon it. As the both of them neared the spot where they heard the scream come from, he saw a young girl's body.  She was laying in a pool of blood, scratched and bitten in various places, by a hellhound. A rogue one, still lurking in the shadows.

'Piper, she's going to die, but if you get her to the infirmary, she may still have a chance.' Nico said, keeping the hellhound in his line of sight.

'But Nico, I can't leave you here.' Piper said, nearing the girl.

'Forget me. I'll figure out a way to kill it. The girl is more important.' He said as Piper sighed lightly and gave him her dagger.

'Then send it back to hell.'

The girl with the kaleidoscope eyes which now looked to be blue in color reluctantly turned in the other direction, the wounded demigod in her arms. Once Nico knew they were both to safety, he tightened his grip on the dagger and ran towards the hellhound.
