Beautiful in Any Color

They say "Black is beautiful" and it's true, for the little form-fitting black sheath dress, as well as people. White is beautiful too, and every color in between. Consider the white peacock, who is as spectacular as the burst of a fireworks display! It's white plumage more dramatic than a bride on her wedding day! This applies to the birds, animals, nature and people. It's okay to be different, to stand out from the crowd. In fact, it can be a good thing. Viva la difference !

It reminds me of the beautiful royal blue and acqua peacock, butterfly, and rose. All are very difference, but all with the same coloring. Let's consider the peacock, whether white or colorful. Besides, it's beauty, what sets it apart _ the eyes on its feathers. As with humans, we each have our own story, our individuality.

The peacock does too. The peacock's many eyes were once thought to be the evidence that the giant, Argus, had 100 eyes (to spy) and they were preserved in the peacocks tail. It has also been symbolic of God's all-seeing eyes. Where else have we seen it, from the bible? One of God's creation was angels with six wings, all covered with eyes inside and out.

The peacock was also considered birds of protection and safe guarding. That their feathers protect us from the evil eye and destroys all negativity like anger, greed, bad influences and jealousy. So, folklore has been associated with the peacock for centuries.

All races and colors are special, individuals and groups intermingling and getting along. The black man and white together; the Arabs and Jew as friends. All colors mixing and promoting mutual understanding, better than the United Nations. The white peacock itself symbolizes "purity and unconditional love".

I have a special affection for people. Diversity is not only healthy, it is nurturing. It spans the vast divide between nations; It is the reason for a child to visit a nursing home for the aged. It is being kind to a homeless person, who is different from us; and relating to others from across the world. Not joining, as one, for a chorus of Kumbaya, but relating on a human level out of love. We can discover what we have in common, not accept what keeps us apart.

Love comes in various forms and bridges the gap that man has created. When given a chance, it blossoms into something quite unique. A sense of humor can speak volumes when shared by two or more people from different backgrounds. Laughter is universal and a smile, even a small computer emoji face, can promote peace and unity. It is an indication that all is well between friends and carries a warm greeting to future friends.

The white peacock's coloring is natural. They are not considered albino. It reflects the authenticity of mankind. It is one of the most spectacular wonders among God's creation ! It shows the imagination and diversity and creativity from the mind of God ! From the snail to the anteater to the giraffe, to the extreme beauty that went into creating the white (and colorful) peacock! What, in the universe, can compare except the universe itself ... another of His creations. From the sheer number of the stars, in the vastness of space, to the finite size of a single organism; they came from Him !

To say it all came about by accident is absurd. There had to be a master mind at work, one who designed with creativity and even humor; but also with protection and ingenuity. The turtle and armadillo and countless others received His protection, with each species having useful body parts. The monkey has hands; the giraffe, her long neck; the elephant his trunk; and the tiny hummingbird it's long beak.

There is not a people more special or animal (bird or fish) more unique than any others. Look at the diversity between the tiny sea horse or sea urchin compared to the mighty whale ! Each having intelligent design. The dog, with it's keen hearing and desire to protect his master; the chimpanzee who comprehends sign language; man with his ability to deduct and imagine and learn. Man was created in God's image, with all of the emotions and awesomeness that entails. We don't use most of our brain power. But, we can find cures for disease, and fall in love at 80!

Yes, man is indescribable, whether he/she is called white, black or has lovely olive skin. We are part of the Plan. There is a joke about unity and the automobile. The bible says: "They all gathered in one accord", proving that cars existed in bible times, that "one accord" describes the Honda Civic . Our sense of humor is common link as well. A writer, for example, can use humor with a graphic designer, from across the world, to bring them closer together. It can touch a common chord of humanity.

We have the capacity to feel bravery or rage; endure chaos or spread harmony. Many of us have God-given talents, a separate endowment from our clever minds. We can dive to the depths or soar to distant planets! The sky is not the limit, but the extent our thoughts can reach, in or away from this planet. It can carry us to the moon and stars and back. It is an effort to benefit the whole world. A small step for a man, who walked on the moon, but a giant one for all of mankind. Perhaps, we will have reached our limit when the stars are too far. But, our imaginations can soar beyond.
