365 Days of Poetry (Part Three)

Day 134: Forgiveness.

Forever, your eyes remind my soul, that I was wrong.

Though never, will your heart acknowledge, that I am merely human.

Your words, they speak of truths describing, how I've let you down.

Within your mind I think you knew, I didn't ever want to leave you.

Something within me was broken, shattered; alike my dreams.

In spite of all that we've been through, I fear, nothing will change.

As you and I, destined to follow different paths, each treading life alone.

It matters not what's in our hearts, as this alters neither path we're on.

Perhaps one day, this may all make sense, within a world so upside-down.

Though for now we must continue on, moving forward, as we should.
