"Shit" I mumbled under my breath.
"Sweetie, would you turn that off and sit down" My mother laughed whilst gritting her teeth.
I quickly turned around and switched off the speakers and got a coke from the fridge and paused for a moment. I knew this had to mean something to my father then I had to try. Plus that was quite embarrassing.
As I walked a man I didn't recognise stood up and pulled out the empty chair next to him out. As I sat he pushed the chair in.
"Hello, I'm Andrew and this is my wife Liz." He said in a strong Australian accent.
I looked over to his left to see a blonde pretty lady smiling with her hand extended towards me. I shook it gracefully and smiled at her.
"And this is my son Luke, we've come from Sydney, Australia" he said motioning to his son, I looked over at him with bored eyes to have them lit up by the sight.
He was memorising, his ocean blue could put anybody into a magical trance and his perfecting quiffed blonde immaculate hair was stunning. His jawline could cut diamonds and his smile could light up the world in a power cut.
I smiled back as nicely as I could, tearing my eyes back to Andrew.
"I'm Alexandra but friends call me Alex." I said confidently because I knew Mother would suspect something if not my usual self.
"Well Alex, I do hope we can all become friends, especially you and Luke, he's not got any friends here but I'm sure you'll help him." He said rather embarrassingly, I just chuckled and risked a glance at the boy who was looking at his hands and chucklingly too.
"I'm sure I'll be able to help" I reassured and Luke seemed to slightly brighten.
"Well good! Sorry to intrude on your weekend, hopefully we'll be gone by Monday" Andrew nervously said.
Hopefully! What the hell! I cannot have a whole family in my house but this boy Luke, he was worth it. I might even endure a conversation with him.
The parents made some small talk and me and Luke exchanged some glances and we both looked away quickly but both smiled.
I a felt a big vibration on my ass and realised my phone was ringing.
"Darling would you care to answer that" my Mother sweetly said.
Yeah, it's uhh Caroline, excuse me Andrew, Liz, uh Luke." I timidly said the last name.
I got up as quietly I could and walked into the kitchen.
"Caroline"
"Alex"
"How may I help you?"
"Look I just wanted to know if you'll be going to the dance in two weeks?"
"No, probably not, look Fathers got business colleges around with their son and I can't talk right now, got to go love! Bye"
"Wait what?! Right um bye"
With that I ended the call, quickly looking through Instagram as I walked back in only to walk into something hard but comforting, I looked up to see the perfect boy who'd sat opposite me for an hour.
"Sorry, I just came to get a drink" his hands were against my waist and my whole body felt electric, I was feeling on fire. My hands on his biceps, I didn't want to let go but I had to say something.
"I-I-I I'm sorry, it was my fault" I stuttered chuckling nervously.
He took his hands away and still stood as close. Although I regretted it, I turned around to the pack of coke I bought earlier.
It had that stupid plastic that you couldn't rip with your nails. I turned to a kitchen draw and grabbed one of the sharp knives.
"So uh, when you came in you were playing American Idiot, so you like Green Day?" He asked, I turned around as I stabbed the knife into the pack.
"Yeah they're one of my favourite bands. I take it that you like them too?" I excitedly said, not many people have the same music taste as me. I turned back around and pulled out a coke and then opened the cupboard to get a fancy wine glass because I'm sure Mother wouldn't approve of the Coke can. But I'd love to see her face.
"Yeah I really like them. They're albums so good." He said leaning on the kitchen counter right beside me." Goosebumps raised.
I poured the Coke into the glass and handed it to him, our fingers touched and static electricity rushed through me.
He immediately drank some and sighed really loud afterwards. He looked at me directly in the eyes. We held the stare for at least 10 seconds until Mother came in.
"Alex, could you get the pudding out of the oven please? I need to stay in there, I'm sure Luke will help you." She smiled at the two of us and then walked out after re-filling her wine glass, she's clearly nervous.
"Sure Mother" I sarcastically said.
He chuckled, a deep beautiful sound full of silk. I moved towards the oven and pulled down the handle, the heat was unbearable so I removed my jacket.
"Shit!" I coughed in the heat. I went to put my hand on the tray to feel that electrifying feeling on my lower arm.
"Careful, you need over gloves or you'll burn yourself." He said carefully pulling me back a tiny bit.
"Thanks, I've got a lot on my mind at the moment. I'm not really with it." I told him, thinking I sound crazy now.
*face palm*
He just smiled and let go and walked back to the counter. I grabbed the oven gloves and shoved them on and pulled out the tray and put it on the protective surface. I got the knife and cut the edges and put it on a fancy plate and walked back into the dining room hearing Luke padding in behind me.
My Mother walked into the room and sat next to Andrew leaving the only seat left, next to Luke.
I hesitantly sat down even though he was already sat down.
"I don't bite I swear" he joked. I properly sat down and picked up my Coke and sipped it. I put it on the edge of the table.
"Alex darling could you pass me the salt" my Mother asked, I reached across and accidentally elbowed my Coke right onto Luke.
SHIT!
"Oh my God! I am so sorry!"
