The police car maneuvered the narrow winding road as fast as it could. The occupants in their own way hoped that what they were heading to was not what they were all secretly dreading.
The tension in the car was on high. They were all wishing that they could have been at Lookout Point much faster than they were already, but the winding and narrow road with its spartan security barriers took great care and precise manipulation.
The minute the car slipped safely through the entrance bodies sprang through open doors as a warning rang mixed with sounds of an alarm blaring loud into the once silent night that seemed like a scene from a twisted LifeTime Movie.
It was however as real as real could get. The scene in front of them brought forth imagines that at least crossed their minds once and came close to what they had feared.
Erin took no caution to what might have occured by his hasten dash towards the dark figure who stood bathed in the glaring headlights. It seemed Dustin did the same too, only he was the first to reach the figure that stood quietly watching them all.
He however paused as he looked from her to an unconscious Lisa who was tied to one of the posts that acted as a barrier from the long drop down the mountain side.
He swallowed hard as he tried not to focus on the fact that the post was not meant to carry any weight other than the lamps that graced there tips and cast there eerie glow upon the dreaded scene before them.
"Erin," Misty breathed with delight, then added as if making a delightful revelation.
"Baby Lisa won't come between us again. I have ensured that."
He wanted to speak but his mouth seemed to be glued by all the fear that radiated from his being. He however held her gaze as he saw that Dustin was edging his way slowly to Lisa.
He opened his mouth once again to speak but he heard a pain filled groan from Lisa who was coming to. He wanted to look at her but he knew it might trigger Misty in some way so he just kept staring at her with a will power he did not know he possessed.
He heard Lisa mumble something as Dustin got closer, but Misty who was standing close to Lisa too heard and momentarily turned to focus on her captive.
With a scream of outrage she shouted at Dustin to stop but he ignored her and she warned him with a mixture of expletives and loaded warnings to leave Lisa be.
"That bitch is just like dad. She must die too!"
She got more outraged as Dustin reached to a sobbing Lisa who begged him to hurry as the post was now toppling to the precipice as it began to pull from the ground under Lisa's unaccustomed weight.
"You little duck!" Misty barked as she pulled a gun from her jacket and this caused Erin to spring into action wrapping her into a strong grip.
He had a hard time keeping her in his hold and was very much relieved when the gun went flying from her grip and Dustin got a hold of Lisa and pulled her to safety before the post uprooted completely.
"No! No!," Misty said as anger reverberated inside of her.
How could Dustin do this to her. After all they have been through he sided with the person who stood in her way. She stopped fighting against Erin's stronghold and just stood there.
Her eyes watched as Dustin carefully lowered Lisa to the ground, untied her and then helped her to her feet. She let all her disgust for him seep from her being into his. This was not how it should have been, he should have ensured she got what she wanted.
She felt Erin's hold on her relax somewhat and knew that it was all in relief for the little bitch who now stood slumped against Dustin. Even the love of her life had betrayed her, but she could forgive him as she knew Lisa had bewitched him and took him away from her.
It was however not going to be so easy to forgive Dustin. He was her brother, the other half of her. He promised to never let her down to always see her through and stand by her side but it seemed to all be lies. He had let them all corrupt him, turned him against her. It was clear she was on her own. He too had fallen for Lisa's charm and now was manipulated by It. He was such a weakling! It was clear he was just a sorry sod. She on the other hand was a fighter who was not easily confirmed.
Her eyes went to the two officers who were now moving into action. The oldest of the two went to Dustin and Lisa while the other walked towards her and Erin. He bent and retrieved the gun that had fallen to the ground and stood to stare at her.
She returned the stear with cold eyes as she saw in the depth of his a look bordering on pity. She wished she could slap the look of pitiful sadness from his face. Everyone thought they could box her into the world in which they thought was best for her when all she wanted was to love Erin.
Well they would all be damned. They would all watch as she showed them. She smiled as the officer continued towards them a handcuff now dangled from a hand.
It glistened as it cut through the bright light from the police car headlights that bathed her and Erin in it's glow.
She did nothing until she saw him take the final step that would take him to them. All it took was a pivot and jerk and both her and the unsuspecting Erin went tumbling against the feeble barrier of lamp posts and falling like rag dolls over the deep black precipice that opened its mouth like a hungry monster to swallow them up.
She smiled as she hit the bottom one thought on her mind. Erin was Hers Only and now they will be together forever.
