Chara turned around quickly and tried to run away. But before they could even turn around, the she-monster said, "Please. We won't hurt you dear human child." she said. She had such a reassuring voice, how could they not trust her. They then started walking towards her. She seemed to have nice, white fur and a long and elegant purple dress. She looked rather like a goat, like ones the town's farm had. But she could talk and she was a monster!

"Come here my child. Say what's your name little one?" asked Toriel while stroking Chara's short, brown hair.

"Chara." they replied. "I'm Toriel" said the monster. They looked down at the ground. Then, another monster came. He looked like the one they'd seen approaching them when they've fallen down. They grabbed onto Toriel's dress. But Toriel just gently stroked their head.

"Don't be afraid Chara. That's just my son, Asriel." said Toriel. Asriel then approached them and ran towards Chara with a happy smile on his goat-looking face.

"Asriel, dear, won't you be my little goat and lend Chara some brand-new clothes?" said Toriel. Chara then looked down at their clothes and as to why they needed it. Then they realized their clothes were covered in dirt and were ragged. Chara then slowly followed Asriel right behind him.

"Hey Chara! Nice to meet you. I have one question and please don't be mad or anything but uhhh..... are you a he or a she?" he asked with curiosity. Chara replied that they didn't have a certain gender because they were born that way. Asriel nodded and then gestured Chara over to the dresser.

"Which shirt and pants do you like? You can pick any one!" said Asriel. Chara pointed to a shirt with a big, yellow stripe in the middle and the rest of the shirt green and a pair of brown jeans. They then went into the bathroom to change. Chara looked at themselves in the mirror and admired how nice their outfit was in years ever since getting kicked out of their house.

They came out of the bathroom and Toriel stood there, her hands cupped in front of her mouth.

"Look how beautiful our human child is!" said Toriel and gave Chara a big hug. Chara's never experienced a hug as nice and gentle as this. Then, there was a big, hunky-looking goat-monster who approached Toriel and gave her a kiss. Chara assumed that was the father of the family. Even though he was quite big, Chara got a good vibe from him. He looked like the type of monster to be a gardener and love to help with baking, he looked almost like a king.

"That's my dad, King Asgore!" said Asriel while pointing to his dad. Chara looked at Asgore and then at Asriel. "King"? Did that mean...

"Is this... a royal monster family?" asked Chara, their voice quivering. They all nodded.

Asriel then grabbed Chara by the hand and led them out the door. They seemed to be heading to the rest of the underground world. There seemed to be buildings and a pathway. Then, Asriel opened the door and there was a cold breeze that managed to blow Chara's hair in front of their face.

"Don't worry. It's a short town and it's not as cold as you think." said Asriel with reassurance in his voice. As they walked through what's called Snowdin Town, they saw a huge sign that greeted them there, a few shops, a diner called Grillby's, a motel, a few houses and a Christmas tree. Everyone seemed so friendly there and no one wanted to try and hurt Chara. Then, they had to try and pass by some ice and on their way to a place named Waterfall. It seemed to be rather peaceful and like somewhere where Chara could live. Then, they stopped and sat down somewhere full of blue, glowing flowers.

"These are echo flowers! If you say anything to them, they immediately reply back to you!" said Asriel as he perched on top of one of the flowers. Then, Chara looked down at them with gleaming, brown eyes. That seemed rather strange but then again, this was the world of monsters and everything here was gonna seem weird.
