Chara then started to settle down and leaned over one of the flowers just as Asriel did. Then, they said something that was never said before,

"I absolutely hate humanity. I want to erase it." Asriel looked at them in surprise. Humans weren't bad, were they? And besides, Chara was a human themselves.

"But Chara, you're a human yourself! And you're not a bad human! What do you mean?" said Asriel with a lot of concern in his voice. Chara's eyes then turned red with anger. Asriel backed away but then Chara realized they startled the monster. Then, they started to apologize.

"It's okay! When monsters are angry, their powers start to activate! Is that what happens when humans are angry?" Asriel asked.

"No. It's some health issue I've had with my eyes. That's why people in the surface used to bully me." said Chara, sitting on the ground, arms crossed. A while later, both friends grabbed an echo flower and walked home with it. They couldn't explore anymore because of how tired they were.

"Hello my children, what have you brought home?" asked Toriel, wearing an apron. She had batter all over it. Was she really good at cooking? Or baking?

"Hey mom, what are you making?" said Asriel, rushing into the kitchen. Chara also smelled something that delighted them. They walked slowly into the kitchen and saw there was a pie baking in the oven. It smelled of butterscotch and cinnamon.

"It's moms butterscotch-cinnamon pie!" said Asriel, jumping up and down.

Then, they all settled themselves into the table and started eating. Then, Toriel started to speak, "I couldn't decide which flavor the Chara liked better, so I made both! This was also to celebrate your arrival!" Chara then thanked Toriel for what she did and continued eating. They ate so fast, the rest of the family was concerned.

"Dear Chara, haven't you ever eaten anything before?" asked Asgore with concern in his voice.

Chara's eyes went wide. They remembered the time Amanda, their mother cried after Bruno, their father, when he left them to die alone. They remembered their mother's coughing and how sick she was. They then started to leave the table and go to their room. They then started to look out their window, knowing there was no light but a bunch of buildings. Amanda was going to die.

"Chara? I'm sorry. My dad had no idea." said Asriel as he came into Chara's room. They then sat together on Chara's bed and had a moment of silence. Then, Asriel remembered something.

"Hey, I have an idea! We can make a pie for my dad!" said Asriel.

"Good idea. But are we missing any ingredients?" asked Chara.

"Well, the butter is finished all thanks to that pie. But we can go and get some! And I'll write down mom's recipe!" said Asriel. Then, he grabbed a piece of paper and a recipe book and started rewriting all the ingredients needed. Then, he folded the paper and put it into his jeans pocket and headed over to his room, saying goodnight.

Chara then went straight to sleep. Today was a long day for them and they needed to get their rest.
