Professor Jones is the Muggle Studies teacher. (I made her up because Idk who the real teacher was.)
"Okay, so how exactly do we play?" Marlene asked.
"It's a muggle game," Frank said. "I heard about it in Muggle Studies." Frank, being a pure-blood, had taken it upon himself to learn more about the muggle culture, Sirius and James took it as well, but they probably didn't pay very much attention.
"How do we play?" Sirius asked, pulling his leg under his thigh and leaning forward slightly. It was a strange position that seemed uncomfortable but he didn't seem to mind.
"So you get asked a truth and then if you don't want to do it you do a dare? That's how I understood it anyway." Frank said, sounding unsure. He glanced at Lily for help.
"Truth or dare? That's what we're playing?" Lily asked. Frank shrugged. "That's what it sounds like-well, sort of."
"Have you played, Evans?" James asked.
"Yes," Lily said, frowning a little. Then her eyes widened and she gasped. "Yeah-if we play truth or dare we have to make a few rules."
"We don't even know how to play," Sirius pointed out.
"I've heard of it," Peter said. "According to Professor Jones you do either a truth, which means someone asks you a question and you answer truthfully or you do a dare, which means someone tells you to do something and you do it."
"But how do we decide who goes? And who asks or tells? Or-"
"Honestly Black, you pay no attention in Muggle Studies, do you?" Alice asked, rolling her eyes.
"Well-I don't pay attention in any class, so..." Sirius trailed off, a faint blush powdering his cheeks. He didn't have anything against muggles-really, he didn't! But Muggle Studies bored him to death and he couldn't help it if his mind wandered.
"It doesn't matter," Lily interrupted. "I know exactly how to play truth or dare."
"Ok, go ahead, Evans." James said, smiling at Lily. She sighed and sat up straighter before continuing.
"Basically, Person A starts and asks Person B 'truth or dare?' Person B then answers which one they would like to do. If they pick truth, Person A asks them any question and Person B has to answer honestly. If they pick dare, Person A tells them to do something-some sort of dare-and Person B has to do it." Lily said. "For example, if I asked Marlene truth or dare and she picked truth, I could then ask her any question and she would have to answer it honestly. Say I asked what color she would dye her hair if she could. She would then answer-"
"Red," Marlene interrupted. "I'd put streaks of red in my hair."
"Yes," Lily said, smiling. "Red.
"Anyway, if she picked dare, I would say, 'I dare you to dye streaks of purple in your hair,' Marlene would then have to dye her hair with streaks of purple." Lily finished. "Usually truths are embarrassing and dares as well, although sometimes truths are just genuine curiosities and dares things you want to see someone do."
"So I could dare you to make out with James?" Sirius asked, cocking his head to the side and grinning mischievously at Lily.
"Yes," Lily said, raising her eyebrows. "But we should make a few rules beforehand."
"Like what?" Alice asked.
"Like, kissing is the farthest it can go." Lily said. She then looked pointedly at James. "And no one is allowed to make me kiss Potter."
James winced a little. "Okay, fine, but mind you it wasn't my idea to play this game so..."
"Is that it?" Marlene asked. "Can we play now?"
