Taeyong could see her shoulders tense up, and despite the monotonous expressions she attempted to keep, her eyes gave away her true emotions at that moment. They looked calculating, almost like they were sizing him up, seeing whether she could take him on, which would be stupid considering he was probably much stronger than her. And Y/N was not stupid. The small, bemused smirk that played on his lips so smoothly, like a soft melody, infuriated Y/N.
"Why am I here, Taeyong?" She almost snarled at the male, who chuckled calmly as he crossed the room. He could feel her unusually bright eyes following him as he leisurely, almost lazily settled himself onto the lavish looking black couch. Despite the bed looking as though it had just been slept in, everything was inexplicably clean, and a strong smell of Febreze lingered in the air. Y/N observed this through the corners of her eyes, refusing to take her eyes off of her opponent. That was one of the first things she had learnt, and perhaps the hard way after she ended up with a knife through her thigh.
Taeyong seemed to be studying her, and she did not approve. She disliked being the centre of attention and never had been, his eyes on her almost made her squirm. She preferred to lurk in the shadows where she knew she had the upper hand due to element of surprise she used on her enemies, but that was hardly possible in this situation. His eyes seemed almost penetrating, like he could read her every thought. "You sound braver than you should be." He finally simply answered, leaning back and picking at his nails in a thoroughly unbothered manner.
"You act cockier than you should." Y/N retorted, a hint of a glare making its way into her features. Instead of getting offended, the male actually laughed out loud, getting up from his seat on the couch and walking towards her. Her mind furiously worked, telling her to back away but she could not let him believe she was threatened by him in the slightest.
She met his eyes as fiercely and confidently as he met hers as he stood a foot away from her. "Your smart mouth could get you into big trouble, you know." Taeyong almost whispered, sending chills down her spine. However, her unfazed expression flabbergasted him.
"I like trouble." The female answered, smiling in a sarcastic manner at the man who seemed to be observing her again. From where he stood, he could easily see even her most unnoticeable features. He could see a small scar on her collarbone, where, by the looks of it, he guessed a bullet had grazed it, the tiredness in her eyes beyond the façade, every small detail. She had a minimum amount of visible injuries, which was a good sign as it meant she was usually the one attacking.
"Don't be so quick to say that, Y/N L/N." He slowly answered, tilting his head in interest, like he was seeing something extraordinary up for display. She hated it, she felt like an object. "I know you've realised it's smarter to stop trying to run. Wherever you go, whoever you're with, I'll know before you do."
Before she could answer, there was a large rap on the wooden door. Taeyong eyed it, before pulling a small remote from his pocket and clicking a button. Immediately, Y/N heard the lock click, and as soon as it had, the door burst open.
"Why the fuck are you shutting down the electricity, it wasn't funny the last time- oh. Y/N." The man halted his angry rant as his eyes shifted from the mafia leader to the girl standing behind him. A large, cunning grin spread across his lips, showing his dimples. Y/N didn't like the fact that his smile indicated he already knew more about her than she had let on.
"Y/N, meet Jung Jaehyun, second in command."
