"What the fuck? Why are you just standing there?" A familiar voice yelled her back to her senses with an uncomfortable lurch. Ten grabbed her from her shoulders as he approached in large strides, his eyes still fixed on her and not on the bodies laying on the floor. Before she could respond, his tight grasp pulled off by Jaehyun, who shot him a threatening glare.
"Don't manhandle her." He ordered, earning a scoff from the other, but he hardly noticed.
Y/N had abruptly sunken to the ground like a puddle beside Taeyong. He was positioned exactly like Seungha. She could not let him bleed out like her sister had, she could not let it happen if she could save him. Sungjin's dead body behind her and Brian's corpse, lying trampled on the staircase made the whole situation incredibly ironic. What made Taeyong so different? Why could she not let him die like she had killed the others in cold blood? She didn't even realise Lucas gently pulling her back, easing the grip she had formed on Taeyong's shirt subconsciously.
Y/N's vision was blurred and in her state of confusion, she couldn't figure out the reason why, why was her body reacting this way, why wouldn't her mind cooperate? The blur was removed as she blinked, feeling something hot and wet trail down her cheeks. Was she crying? If so, why? The dream had just put her in a vulnerable state, that was all. Right...?

Taeyong groaned as he rolled over. It felt like a white hot fire had been set ablaze in his ribcage, he definitely wasn't dead. If he was, it wouldn't hurt this fucking much. But how was he alive?
He rubbed his groggy eyes, the soft, dimmed light entering them almost cautiously. "Good morning." Doyoung smirked, he seemed to be washing something in the sink while Johnny adjusted a drip beside the bed. He could see Kun and Yuta having an animated discussion a few feet away, and Jaehyun leaning against the door, looking like he fell asleep standing.
"What? What happened?" He asked, hastily attempting to sit up, before being pushed back down by Johnny.
"You should rest first, we'll tell you later-" He began, beginning to walk away before his leader cut him off, tugging on his shirt so he couldn't move further. Even the slightest movement fuelled the pain in his ribs, causing him to gasp in pain, but he wasn't giving in.
"No. Jaehyun. What happened?" He turned childishly to the one person he knew would tell him, as his best friend and most trusted member. Although he seemed reluctant, eyeing the heavy bandages on Taeyong's body, he gave in.
"She killed him. And Brian Kang. That's probably the only reason you're still alive. They fled when the leader died, but we still have Shownu in captivity. Dumbass, why the fuck did you go there alone? And where was your backup gun?" Jaehyun reprimanded, anger blazing behind his soft eyes.
"I gave her my second gun. And there wasn't enough time even if I had it, the son of a bitch shot me before I could have tried to reach it." He hissed back, earning an eye roll from the others. Kun and Yuta had come over now too, and everyone seemed to be holding their breaths; they all wanted his response on the new girl saving him.
He attempted to act completely oblivious, forgetting that he couldn't pull that off. Not with them. "Come off it, Tyong, what's your verdict?" Yuta crossed his arms, eyes expectantly on Taeyong, as a series of agreements passed through the group.
"My verdict is: I knew it because I chose her." He laughed loudly as his friends immediately began to protest indignantly on how this was not the time to boast and about the fact that they had helped with the decision. "Okay, fine. I think that now, she knows she can't return to RTK, not when she's killed two allies. Which, in turn, is good for us because it means she will be more loyal towards us because she has nowhere else to go."
"That's true but I mean, she isn't safe. That girl has a weird temperament, you never know when she'll flip. We still need to watch her, Lucas, Ten and Sicheng are with her now. She refuses to admit that she saved you and cried, even though we all saw it." Kun chuckled, fiddling with his watch, the hands clicking softly as the seconds passed, each tick bringing them closer to breakfast. The night's darkness was now long gone and replaced with the bright, shining sun.
As the others broke out into conversation around him, Taeyong's mind wandered back to Kun's last sentence. She cried? Why is she always crying around me? I'm not that bad.
