A single tear clung to Samantha’s cheek as the cold fall air tried taking it in its grasps. Her body shook as her and Nancy neared Kaitlyn’s house. Samantha tried putting all her energy on focusing on the crunching leaves beneath her feet, but its like thoughts had a different plan replaying every hateful incident leading up to that very moment. A hate so powerful knotted in her chest for Kaitlyn. Her breath hitched as Kaitlyns giant empty house came into view. Suddenly she felt Nancy’s hands push her down into the nearest bush of Kaitlyn’s front lawn. “Shh,” Nancy whispered into Samantha’s ear while pointing towards a sudden car backing out of the driveway. “That’s Kaitlyn’s car, which means the whole house is now empty. The maid likes to keep the upstairs bathroom window unlocked, we can get in through there.”
“Nancy, how do you know that?” Samantha said slowly.
“I have to much free time on my hands, but that’s beside the point. Now move it we don’t have much time.” With those last words Nancy bolted out of the bush and hopped over the long narrow fence leaving Samantha behind. Samantha tried to keep up but as soon as she reached the top of the metal fence, her tiny frame started to fall back. Nancy hands shot up into the air immediately and grabbed Samantha forcing her to come down on the other side of the fence.
“Be careful!” Nancy shouted panicked, “you don’t want to get hurt. We can get to the bathroom window by climbing that tree.”
“Or we could just use that ladder,” Samantha laughed as she pointed towards the ladder leaning up against the side of the tree. Nancy ran ahead and grabbed the side of the ladder dragging it to the side of the house, and made her way up. Now it was Samantha’s turn, her shaky hands grabbed the side of the ladder while she pulled herself up. When she finally reached the top of the window she leaned all of her body weight against it causing her to flip forward landing her head straight into the toilet beneath the window. The toilet made a loud plop sound as her head immerged in the water. When Samantha pulled her head out of the toilet all she could hear was Nancy’s laugh echoing through the house. Tears form laughing started to slowing roll down Nancy’s face leaving a smeared line of eyeliner down her cheek and onto her neck. Samantha’s vision blurred from the water as she tried looking around. From what Samantha could see the dark bathroom seemed huge. She made her way to the door and gently opened it trying to make as little sound as possible.
“This way,” Nancy whispered as she led the way to Kaitlyn’s bedroom. Samantha’s eyes grew large as she looked around the bedroom. The bedroom was an exact replica of everything she has ever dreamed about. Even with the giant king sized bed and the hot tube in the middle of the room, the room still seemed large. The first thing Samantha did was she went straight to Kaitlyn’s laptop on the bed. Samantha opened it to find that it was still logged into Kaitlyn’s Facebook account. She took a deep breath and clicked on Kaitlyn’s inbox. She quickly scrolled through the messages, most of which were from people she had never heard of. Then she landed on Devon’s name. Excited Samantha clicked on his name revealing their messages. Samantha’s eyes scanned through the words, most of it was a bunch of pointless messages talking about the upcoming dance. Then she came across a message with her name in it after yesterday’s incident. It read,
Kaitlyn, your making a big deal out of nothing! What happened today was probably nothing! I’m sure Samantha wasn’t being ‘Creepy’ as you put it. I’m getting sick of your drama. As for what you did to her today that was unacceptable, and I’m not sure I can deal with your drama anymore.
-Devon
Samantha’s heart pounded, she couldn’t believe he was actually sticking up for her. She continued to read Kaitlyns reply.
Devon your right what I did was unacceptable, I was just shocked that’s all. I shouldn’t of acted like that. Babe I’m sorry ): Will you forgive me love? I will say sorry to her tomorrow I promise(: I LOVE YOU!
-Kaitlyn
Kaitlyn, its okay, I’m sorry for exploding on you I’m just frustrated with football, I didn’t mean to take it out on you. Love you too babe <3
-Devon
Samantha’s heart tightened, she couldn’t believe what she just read, if only Devon knew what Kaitlyn was really like. Frustrated she slammed the laptop shut and headed straight to Kaitlyn’s closet. Revenge it tasted bitter sweet at this point. She threw open the closet door and pulled out one of many of Kaitlyn’s designer dressers, and started to tare it apart with her hands. Taking all her anger out on every single item found in the closet. Next she went to Kaitlyn’s bathroom dumping all the make up she could find into the nearest garbage. When that was done she took all the hair products she could grab and poured them down the drain.
“Samantha we need to get out of here, Kaitlyns home.”
