Chapter 6

Sams POV:

I laughed nervously, Charles is so adorable.
"Whatcha thinking about?" He asked
"Nothing..." I looked away. His expression changed from the lighthearted goofball to a concerned mom.
"Ok..... tell me if you need to talk, it's fine if you don't I understand that too..." he looked at me concerned.
"Thanks, Charles." I forced a smile "I'd rather just get my mind off it..."
"Ok that's totally fine! I'm here if you need anything." Lee looked around "Hey look!" He put his hand on top of mine to get my attention. I blushed.
"What?" I looked around. Lee pointed slightly over to the corner of the coffeehouse. Alex and his girlfriend, Eliza were making out "oh..." I giggled. Charles smiled at me sweetly.
"You have the best laugh...." he smiled with a tint of pink across his face. "Sorry, is that to much?"
"It's fine..." I giggled more blushing dark red. Charles smiled, I wish I could know what was happening in that beautiful head of his...

Charles POV:

Lord, he is so beautiful....
I looked over to Liza and Alex. They weren't making out anymore, they were holding hands and gazing into each others eyes. Liza and I have been friends since preschool, my only closer friend is James Madison. We met on the first day of preschool, we were both hiding in a corner having a panic attacks. We both have anxiety so we closely bonded over that, we are kinda each other's emotional support now... I had to help him when he asked out Thomas, his current boyfriend, they are so perfect.

I turn my attention back to Sam. "Ready to head to work?" I asked optimistically. Sam nodded. I looked over and Liza had caught my attention. She smiled at me and gave me two thumbs up as if to say "nice pull!" I rolled my eyes at her playfully. Alex pulled her into another kiss and I smiled back at Sam standing up. Sam stood up and smiled at me. His smile always made me blush.
"How is your morning?" Sam asked
"Oh, good!" I laughed realizing we hadn't had time to have a lot of small talk with all the drama "you?"
"Good!" Sam smiled at me and I blushed.

Sams POV:

I think I love Charles.
Yes.
I definitely love him... he. Is. Beautiful.
I want to date him but... with my past I don't know... I know Charlie... he wouldn't hurt me on purpose.
Charlie.
I love calling him that... it feels... right.
I love Charlie. I want to call him that.
"Hey Charles?" I asked
"Umm yah?" He laughed a bit... I realized I was holding his hand
"Oh, sorry..."
"It's fine!" He squeezed my hand lovingly. I blushed hard.
"Can I call you Charlie?" I asked. I saw his face turn red
"Y-yah!" He smiled
"Ok, Charlie" I smiled back. He opened the door for me
"Thank you!" I smiled as I felt the cool morning breeze on my face.
"Your welcome" Charlie smiled at me. He opened the car door for me then walked over and got in himself and started the car. "What does your shift look like today?" He asked turning around as he backed up.
"I think same as usual..." I smiled that means I get to spend time with Charlie .
"Sweet!" He switched gears and started driving. He smiled at the road but I could tell it was directed towards me. I smiled back at him. We rolled up to the store parking lot and he waved at a coworker, James, I think.
"Who's that?"
"Oh, James!" So it was James "best friend since preschool, we both have really bad anxiety but regular and social so we're kinda each other's emotional support, ya know?"
"Yeah. You have anxiety?" He hid it well!
"Yup! I've learned to manage it though..."
"Hm" I shrugged "well you did a good job! I couldn't tell!"
"Thanks!" Charlie smiled and got out opening my door for me.
"You know, you don't have to open every door for me" I giggled
Charlie smiled and shrugged "I want too. I've always heard that you should give small favors to those you care about.." I blushed. I noticed James walking over holding hands with a tall man with big hair.
"James! Thomas!" Charlie smiled at them "this is Sam!" He gestured to me and I smiled and waved nervously at them.
"Sam, this is James and his boyfriend Thomas!" They smiled at me.
"Ooooooohhhhh does Charlie have a boyfriennddddddd???" James nudged Charlie teasing him. Charlie looked down blushing.
"It's about time!" Thomas added laughing. I was blushing.
"Haha I wish!" Lee smiled. He does? I mean I guess so... I was technically the one who turned him down...
James and Thomas smirked at him.
"Shall we?" Thomas asked gesturing to the store. We all nodded and started walking.
I want to ask out Charlie but how and when?
