Yep, there's a spectrum! It isn't just "allosexual (the opposite of asexual) or asexual", there's ones in between. It's also referred to as the a-spec.
The asexual spectrum is basically just any sexuality that isn't allosexual, whether it's grey-ace, demi, lith or apothi (there are more though!)
Anyway, let's go a bit more into detail.
So, this
is the sexuality triangle. Any area that is grey or black is the a-spec. The lighter grey areas would probably contain:
Demisexual
Only feeling sexual attraction after you know somebody very well.Fraysexual
Only feeling sexual attraction for a limited amount of time, the opposite of demisexual. The slightly darker grey would probably include:
Greysexual/grey-asexual
Only feeling sexual attraction very, very rarely.Lithsexual/akoisexual
Feeling sexual attraction until it's reciprocated, or feeling sexual attraction but not desiring sex.The dark grey would probably be:
Cupiosexual
Not feeling sexual attraction but desiring sex, the opposite of lithsexual/akoisexual.And the black at the bottom would be:
Apothisexual
Being disgusted by sex.Asexual
Not feeling sexual attraction (this is how I identify!)Anyway!
I hope this has helped you realise that there's more than just allosexual and asexual, and that there's many identities in between! This might help you understand more -
