Prissy woke up the next morning to the sun shining in through her window, she'd forgotten to close the curtains. She got changed into a black cami with daisies on it, blue and white striped paper bag shorts and tied her hair half up half down with a blue tie dye scrunchie (outfit pictured above).
She also put some bracelets and rings on. Walking down the stairs, she heard footsteps in the house. She assumed it was her brother waking up, she was correct. She walked into the kitchen and decided to make the special breakfast she always used to make for her and her brother.
He'd called it the munchkin fruit extravaganza! It contained: strawberry, banana, apple, kiwi, mango, blueberry, raspberry, pineapple and lime juice. She put them out on the breakfast bar with two glasses of water and ice. Then all she had to do was wait for her brother. Eventually she heard him coming down the stairs.
"The munchkin fruit extravaganza!" He exclaimed as he entered the kitchen. The two sat down and began eating.
"I'm sorry for scaring you, I should have at least told you where I was going!" She said. He smiled.
"That's okay, it's not like you could exactly walk up to me and say: oh hey I'm gonna go hang with the dude who held a gun to your head!" Topper told her. "I'm gonna check up on Sarah and her family today, if you wanna come!" He added.
"That's okay, I've got to dye my hair!" Prissy said, excitedly.
"Just, I wanna make sure you're out of the house when dad gets back. If you hear a car pulling up, go out the back door!" Topper said.
"So I take it I can't go hang out with my friends today?" She asked.
"You're going to no matter what I say aren't you?" He asked her, she nodded. "Okay fine, but don't go running around town or anything, I don't want dad to find out!" He said. Her smile beamed.
"Thanks, you're the best!" She smiled, hugging her brother. Not long later, he left to go see Sarah. She was home alone, just how she liked it. She went up to her room, grabbed her guitar and songbook, then sat in her bed.
She decided to play devil town, by Cavetown. It was her favourite song to play. She gave up on playing the guitar after a while and decided to dye her hair. She was glad for the generators her parents bought, as she could watch Netflix while doing so.
She put on Gilmore Girls and dyed her hair. She started at about her shoulders and just went down from there. Her hair almost reached her waist. After dying her hair and allowing it to dry she went to her full length mirror and looked at herself. She liked it.
She knew it would probably fade quite quickly, seeing as she always went surfing, but she liked the way she looked for once. She went downstairs afterwards, grabbing an ice pop from the freezer and sitting in the backyard. Just as she finished her ice pop, she heard a car pulling up to the house.
She rushed to the shed and grabbed her skateboard, then dashing around the side of the house. When she heard the front door close, she went out into the road and zoomed off.
When she arrived at the chateau, she saw an unfamiliar car and heard lots of yelling. Next thing she new, there was a gunshot. Instinctively, she looked for cover.
The first thing she thought of was hiding in a bush, which wasn't the smartest idea, but it was good enough. She made sure to bring her skateboard so no dog would see it. She saw her friends climbing out of a window and into the chicken coop directly in front of where she was hiding.
One thing Prissy didn't know and would never find out, was that while she had been at home, Topper had been with his friends plotting to break up her friendship with the pogues. He decided he would push them to do something bad enough that she wouldn't want to see them ever again.
Prissy watched as two men exited John B's house carrying boxes. The rooster was making tons of noise. Prissy was so focused on the scene unfolding in front of her, she didn't even notice the tears rolling down her cheeks.
One of the men noticed the noise coming from the chicken coop and approached it, gun in hand. She thought it would be the end, for her and her friends. She was sure they would notice her perched in the bush.
The rooster stopped making noise altogether. Somehow, he didn't notice any of the teens and turned away, leaving the men to drive off. She watched as her friends crawled out of the chicken coop.
Prissy then attempted to get out of the bush, leaving with several scratches all over her arms and legs. She threw her skateboard on the ground, ran over to JJ and pulled him into a tight hug.
"What? What's wrong?" He asked, hugging her back.
"You're an idiot JJ!" She said, more or less into his chest. "Thank you!" She added, quietly.
"Did it help?" JJ asked.
"Surprisingly, yes. But never do something that dumb again, please!" She said.
He laughed a little and hugged her tighter. "I won't, I like your hair though!" He said, quietly as he pulled away from the hug. He led her inside to clean up all the scratches on her body, they weren't bad, but some were bleeding.
JJ grabbed a towel and ran it under cold water, then squatting on the floor and beginning to clean her leg. "I can do it!" She told him, reaching down to grab it from him.
"No, let me!" He responded, smiling a little. "I didn't know you were a skateboarder!" JJ added, laughing a little.
"I'm not really allowed to do it in public!" She told him. He looked at her confused. "My dad came back, so I took my skateboard because it's the least noticeable. He'd definitely know if I took the car or my bike!" She explained. He nodded.
"Did he, you know?" JJ asked, waving his hand about a little bit.
"Nah, I took off before he could even notice I was home!" She told him, he let out a sigh of relief. JJ then explained to her what she had missed and she'd missed quite a lot.
"Thank you, you know. For the letter!" She said, after a few minutes of silence. "It was kinda dumb, but thank you!" She said.
"It was the least I could do." JJ said, with a serious expression on his face.
"I think Topper is kind of going to tolerate you guys now too. I mean, he didn't exactly say he wanted me to hang out with you guys, but he said he won't stop me!" She told him.
"It's better than nothing!" He added. She nodded in agreement. It was definitely better than nothing.
A/N: Hi Guys! It's been ages since I last updated, sorry about that. I sort of lost motivation for this book, but I'm back. Also in case anybody wanted to know what Prissy's hair looks like now it's like this:
But a bit longer. Also if anybody has any suggestions for a face claim for Prissy please let me know, because I couldn't find one that suited how I imagined her, but I'd love to hear what you guys think. Thank you so much for over 400 reads, that's insane. I love you all! 💕
