Chapter1: Who Am I?

I hate myself, I always have. The way I look, act, think...everything about me. The mirror in front me must not show the truth, the reflection in the mirror isn't me. It shows someone happy, loving, someone good...that's not me. I look at the blonde hair, it's a joke surely.. The cat-like green eyes, the light inside them...it's not me. The sun tanned skin with freckles carelessly sprinkled across the nose...it doesn't seen like someone who was meant for hate. I glare at the young man staring back at me before swinging my fist directly into that perfect mirrored face.

"It can't be me." I whisper staring at the broken glass in the sink, a small trail of blood leading down into the drain. I stared down at the blood trail as it slowly dripped down the drain. It reminded me of just how much of a monster I really am, even when my face is perfect I'll still be this horrible creature inside. The black blood that dripped down the drain was a beautifully horrible reminder.

"Why?" I asked myself then paused praying for an answer to pop into my head, nothing came. My blood is blacker than night, I'm not even so sure I have a heart in my chest but here I am staring at my blonde hair green eyed mirror self. I'm a joke to my kind and a monster to any other.

"What have I done to be this? What could I possibly have done to be here...like this?" I asked myself once again, looking back down at my now perfect hand. Whats the point of hurting yourself if you'll only heal up within 5 minutes.

"Paetan? Are you okay?" a sing-song voice calls from beyond the bathroom door. The voice belonged to my younger sister Emily.

"Yes Emily...I'm fine." I mumbled softly in response, I was in the middle of taking the mirrors' frame off the wall when I hear the door slowly creak open. Emily hesitated for a moment before pushing the door completely open.

I look over my shoulder and stare into the big brown eyes of my sister. Her face slipping from a soft smile to worry, lines crease the corners of her eyes. I did that to her, a 14 year old child should not have creases, they shouldn't worry over their older brother the way she does for me.

"Oh, Pae...what have you done?" she asks quietly, her voice filled with love...I don't deserve it. She crosses the small bathroom, taking my hand in her small caramel one examining it for the damage that already healed.

"I haven't done anything that I haven't before. Now can I have my hand back we both know it has already healed." I attempt to take my hand back but her grip keeps me from getting to far. She raises her eyebrow at me, letting me know that I won't be going anywhere until I spill. I let out a small breath of irritation and defeat, counting from 5 to calm myself down before I throttle my own sister.

"What is going on with you lately?" Emily asking her voice dripping with curiosity and worry. She dropped my hand to play with the hem of her shirt.

"Nothing to be concerned about alright?" I told her pushing past her stopping only when I got into the hallway. "Thanks Em...really but I don't need you worrying." I tried to smile at her, but im pretty sure I just looked like a lunatic.

"You know I will no matter what Paetan. Are you su-" I cut her off short, and listened in to the outside world. For a moment I could have sworn I heard something moving outside.

"Paetan, are you alright?" Emily asked again her hand waving in front my face begging for attention. I waved at her hand as I tried listening harder, sadly I couldn't hear a damn thing with Emily's mouth.

"Will ya shut it for one damn second Emily!" I finally yelled at her moving closer to the window. Emily huffed out a large breath making sure I know how much I just annoyed her but to be honest I gave less of a care.

I inched closer to the window stopping only when I felt the breeze hit my face.

"Emily...go into my room...now." I whispered to her, straining my eyes to see even the slightest movement outside. Just as I heard her start to shuffle a face appeared in the window only inches from my own.

"GAH! WHAT THE FUCK!" I yelled jumping back only to hear a familiar laugh.

"It's not good to be jumpy, especially at night." Window-boy told me, his voice deep but dripping with madness.

"Ryen?" Emily called out twisting and turning behind me to see our friend. O'Ryen C. Kallen, Emily and I's only friend the last 10 years and I guess cousin or something.

"Yo Em, Did I make ya shit y'er pants?" He asked while cracking a big crazy smile that made his dark blue eyes sparkle. Ryen was crazy, demented, hateful, and downright frightening at times but he also was our greatest ally.

"No actually, I figured you'd be coming tonight." She smiled before moving away pulling my arm as she moved. I wasn't even fully out the way by the time Ryen crawled in through the window.

"Full Moon tonight mate, you ready?" Ryen asked me as he flashed my a toothy grin.
