The next week of lessons, everyone was distracted. I hardly had any homework, and 1 assignment from Snape. Everyone's mind was on the ball tonight, probably completely forgetting about Christmas tomorrow and Christmas Eve tonight. I was drying myself off with a drying spell because I just got out of the shower. I was feeling a little fancy today, just because of the ball. I slept in, hoping to get rid of my under-eye bags for this magical evening. I felt really relaxed as I walked rather slowly to breakfast, taking in the beautiful Christmas decorations.

"Why on Earth are you waking so bloody slow?" A confident voice asked. Draco swayed up beside me and put an arm around my waist.

"Draco Malfoy! You're not allowed to see me before the ball! It's bad luck." I explain to him. He laughs at me.

"I'm pretty sure that's for weddings, Hchee. We're not getting married." I laugh at my stupidity and throw my arm around Draco's shoulder. "Unless.."

"Draco, you're fourteen!" I laugh-scream at him throwing my head back in laughter. He giggles along with me.

"Guess you'll have to wait for me then." He shrugs. We reach the Great Hall still holding each other.

"Alright, I'll see you tonight," I say to him as we part ways, him to the Slytherin table, myself to the Gryffindor table. Our public display of 'affection' earns a few confused stares from the Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff tables. Slytherin and Gryffindor are used to Draco and I. Even though, we've both made it clear that we are not interested in each other. Well, I'm not interested in Draco. "Morning boys," I say cheerfully as I sit down in between the twins and across from Lee.

"Top of the morning, Holly," Lee says formally, and in a prestigious voice. I raise my eyebrow at him and look to the twins for an explanation. George swallows his Pumpkin juice and belches.

"Charming," I say with disgust on my face. I turn to Fred. "What's wrong with Jordan?" I ask him simply.

"He's trying to be 'mature' to land a dance with Katie at the ball. He heard her say she likes mature boys at dinner last night." Fred says in explantation. I roll my eyes.

"Wish she would act mature herself," I mutter under my breath, turning back to my plate, swallowing my sadness along with my eggs. Fred senses my discomfort, sighs and puts his hand on my back. He rubs it comfortingly.

"They are just some nasty girls. You'll get over it someday." He says in an attempt to comfort me, but he probably should've stuck to the back rubbing.

"If it makes you feel any better, Freddie here is absolutely dreading going with Angelina tonight," George says in better comfort. I hear Fred groan, and throw his head in his hands. I open my mouth to laugh but I am cut off by a harsh voice.

"What the bloody hell are you doing with that slut." Angelina sneers from behind us. Wow. Way to ruin my morning.

"Angie-" Fred starts.

"No, Fred. It's fine. I was just leaving, Angelina." I get up to leave before I get more hurt. She smiles in satisfaction and skips over to Fred. I realized I had so much more to offer than her, so I whipped around, ready to blast. "You know-" I turn around to see a shocked look on Angelina's face. She jumps over to Fred and plants an extremely aggressive and disgusting kiss on Fred. He looks shocked and seemed to want to get out. Although that made me feel a little better about the whole thing. I still stood there too shocked to move, horrified in position. To my rescue, Harry, Ron and Hermione swiftly walked over to me.

"Holly! There you are!" Harry said cheerfully, grabbing my arm and whipping me around. Hermione reaches over and closes my mouth. The trio and I walked hastily out of the Great Hall. Tears falling rapidly down my face. They take me down a quiet hallway. Harry and Hermione are both tightly gripping my arms, steering and controlling me. Ron's running behind us, struggling to keep up with our pace. Harry and Hermione sit down, dragging me down with them. Ron finally catches up. As soon as I hit the ground, I melt into Harry's arms, and start to sob into his chest. Hermione is pulling the hair out of my face, and Ron is rubbing my back. Seems like that's the Weasley's favourite way to comfort.

"I knew you were in love with him. I knew it!" Ron says triumphantly, earning a hit from Hermione. I look up, meeting eyes with Ron.

"You're right. I am." I say truthfully, Hermione's hands covering her mouth. She seems like she's going to cry now.

"You-You're in love with him?" She asks shocked. A tear spills down her face. I nod.

"Aw, Hermione. Don't cry!" I say, putting a hand on her shoulder.

"I'm sorry, Holly, it's just so tragic!" She laughs and wipes a tear.

"You love him?" Harry asks quietly. I nod. Harry says nothing and just hugs me really tightly.

"You're going to make him so jealous, tonight Holly. We'll make sure of it." Hermione says confidently.

"I better!"
