The message read. He must be crazy trying to ruin my relationship and friendship. I call Elijah but he doesn't answer. He's probably sleeping. Amiya texts me like 2 minutes later and says, "Hey, wanna hang out tomorrow?"
I reply yes and go to my mom's room. I knock on her door and ask her if I can come in and she says yes. "Hey momma," I say while getting on her bed. "Hey baby wassup," she says pausing her Netflix show.
I just sit here and admire my mom for a second. I wanna be shaped like her when I get older. My mom had me when she was 17 and she basically raised me on her own; until she met my stepdad. He came into her life and made her the happiest woman until he died from pancreatic cancer. His daughter, Alia, moved in with us and she's been living here ever since.
"Hello, I know your a** didn't come in here to stare at me, what you want?," she snaps at me.
"Damn momma, can I not admire my beautiful mom," I laugh. "Girl shut up, what ya want? Ya interrupting my show," she says.
"Okay so you know how I'm dating Elijah right-," I start but she cuts me off, "when you should be dating DeVonte but whatever floats your boat."
I roll my eyes and continue, "anyways speaking of De he just texted me and said that he saw Elijah cheating with Amiya but I just think he's jealous and tryna ruin my relationships," I finish.
"DeVonte? Really? He would never do that to you he's too in love with you for that," she says.
"In love? Momma, what are you talking about?," I ask confused.
"Girl, you're blind to not see the way he looks at you, totally insane," she finishes. OMG, what is she talking about? If he loved me then why is he dating Jayla? I am so confused.
"So are we done?," she asks checking her wrist that doesn't even have a watch on it. "Ma, what are you checking? You don't got no watch on your wrist," I laugh.
"Chanel, get yo a** out," she playfully shoves me. "Yes ma'am," I say and get up to leave her room.
"Oh and Nel, watch who you hanging out with," she says as I get to the door. I walk out of her room and close the door behind me. As I get in my room, I start to think but I can't even think for long before Alia comes busting in my room.
"Umm b**** there's something called knocking," I say, annoyed.
"Ain't you dating that light skin boy with curly hair, his name Micah? Eli something? I don't know and I really don't care but I was just at the store and seen him there walking down the aisle holding hands with and kissing this other girl," she finishes, out of breath.
"LIAR, this not the time to play so what you want for real?," I say. "Suit yourself but watch who you hanging around," she says and leaves my room. What is with people and messing with me today. I call Elijah again and he doesn't answer. See, he's probably still sleeping ...
THE NEXT DAY I wake up and check my phone. I have two missed calls from Elijah and three texts from him.
*Baby* *Baby, I'm sorry I didn't see your call Iwas sleeping. You know I had a long day at school* *Good morning baby*
I text him back and check my messages from Amiya.
*Girl, it's 12 o'clock. Wake your a** up so we can go to the mall*
I laugh, reply, and get out of bed. Right now, it's 1 so I gotta hurry up and get ready. I knew Elijah was sleeping, how they gon tell me what my boyfriend was doing. I finally get dressed.

"CHANEL, YOUR FRIEND IS HERE," my mom yells from downstairs. I grab my phone and purse and walk downstairs. "Who's attention we tryna grab today?," my mom says.
"Umm God himself," I say and she smacks my arm. "Girl, don't play with me. Enjoy your day love and keep Chanel in check for me," my mom says to Amiya. "Yes ma'am I'll try," she says and we walk out of the door.
"Giirrrrrrrrrrrrrl, lemme tell you," Amiya starts as soon as we get in the car and I start laughing. I know it's bouta be a story time. "So I got the finest n**** ever and when I tell you we had the time of our lives last night," she says while driving.
"Woooow, so you wasn't gon tell me you had a n****," I say and she says sorry. "It's cool tho, but I knew sum was different because you have that glow," I say and she smiles.
"Yeah, he can work wonders in bed I'm telling you girl. If only y'all did it," she says.
"Y'all?," I question and she quickly says, "you and Elijah duhhh stupid."
"Whatever, let's get this shopping over with. I gotta date with my baby tonight," I finish and pick up my phone. I guess Amiya thinks I'm not paying attention because she rolls her eyes, smirks, and shakes her head a little. WTF was that about?
