Katia's POV:
I slammed my alarm clock, hoping that it would stop screaming at me. When it didn't, I let out a heavy sigh and rolled out of my bed. I stood up, ignoring the head rush that came right after. I paced over to my bathroom, and lazily began brushing my teeth.
I felt as though something bad was going to happen. Shaking the feeling, I continued with my morning routine, pulling my hair into a messy ponytail and putting on my uniform. It was a white button up shirt, with a black pencil skirt. I put on my black heels, which were as painful as ever, and slipped out of my apartment.
I would normally take an Uber to work, however I was a little early, and I decided to walk instead. My shoes clicked along the pavement in a steady tune as I passed by the busy streets. I paused in front of a Starbucks, contemplating whether or not I should enter. I decided to buy a Mocha Frappé, and continued on my way to work. I had to speed up a little bit, the line at Starbucks was rather long, so I had to make up for the lost time.
I couldn't help but feel like someone was watching me as I neared the tall office building. I turned around, glancing behind me. I didn't see anyone, so I trudged forward, quickly being stopped by a hand clapping over my mouth.
I was pulled into an alleyway, and quickly knocked out by a steady blow to the head.
When I woke up, I was handcuffed to a wall. The room was dark, I could not hear anything but my own breathing. I screamed for help, to no avail. I heard someone walking towards the room, and down a couple steps. A figure appeared, throwing a young man into the room before turning to leave again. He was tied up with ropes, and his mouth was taped shut. I would normally rush to help, but the handcuffs quickly reminded me of my current situation.
The man stirred, seeming like he was going to wake up.
"Hello? Do you know where we are?" I asked loudly, startling him. He turned around, tape still covering his mouth. He let out a muffled response.
"Can you scoot over here? I'm cuffed to the wall, but I might be able to get the tape off." I said, trying to help him. He tried his best to move towards me, his efforts made all the difference, and I was able to rip the tape off with my free hand.
"Who are you?" He asked with a husky voice. He had a nice accent, but I couldn't think about that now.
"I'm Katia, who are you?"
"I'm Harry. Can you see anything?"
I squinted as hard as I could, but I could only see the outline of his body and the reflection of the silver tape. "No, it's too dark." My voice cracking with a bit of fear. "I already tried screaming for help, but I think we're underground."
"Fuck!" He made an attempt to sit up, it didn't really work so well. "Is she going to kill us?"
"She? It's a girl?"
"Yeah, I got a good look at her before she grabbed me. She had these big ass goggles on, they covered most of her face." He explained slowly. Suddenly, the lights flickered on. I squinted, the sudden light stinging a bit.
A woman entered the room, her hair was very messy, and was wearing goggles like Harry said. She had a long white coat on, with a plain black shirt and blue jeans underneath. She looked to be about my age, if not older, but I couldn't tell because of the goggles covering most of her face.
When she saw us, she let out a loud shriek, almost like she was surprised we were there. Harry and I exchanged looks of pure confusion before turning to the lady.
"Who are you!? How did you get into my house?!" She demanded. I recognized her voice, but I couldn't lay a finger on where I knew it from.
"You kidnapped us! You threw me down the stairs and everything!" Harry shouted, sounding agitated. I admired his bravery, but right now wasn't the time to get sassy.
"I did? Oh! I remember that! Silly me..." She trailed off. She began mumbling, and looked up at us like she just remembered that we were still sitting there. "I'm Katherine! Nice to meet you!" She said, putting a hand out for Harry to shake.
Harry looked more annoyed, as his hands were still tied behind his back. It took me a second, but I quickly remembered the name Katherine.
I used to have a best friend named Katherine, she was a little crazy, but that in was high school, and there is no way she is even more crazy now. I decided to ask anyway. "Do I know you?"
Katherine squinted behind her goggles, before lifting them up. "Oh. My. God. KATIA!" She ran over to me, and brought me into a tight hug. "It's been so long, girl! How have you been? Have a boyfriend yet?"
"No... um why the fuck did you kidnap me?" I asked. Katherine tapped her chin.
"I don't remember! My boss said something about crawfish, and so I went and kidnapped three people!"
"You two know each other?" Harry was more confused than before.
"Of course! We went to jail together!" Katherine exclaimed, clapping her gloved hands together. Harry shot me a look.
"I didn't go to jail! I bailed you out!"
"Oh shit my bad, wrong bitch." Katherine apologized.
"What did you mean by three people? There is only two of us." Harry stated, trying to break free of his restraints.
"Charles? I wanted to keep him all to myself! Also, he would totally ruin the fanfic if he was here with you. Total third wheel moment, am I right?" Katherine explained. Although I was confused by her comment about a "Fanfic", I just ignored it.
"Do you want to meet him? Oh! He's so pretty!" Katherine squealed. "I'll go get him!" Katherine was about to exit the room, but I stopped her.
"Wait! Can you please un-cuff me?" I asked, hoping our past together would get me out of this.
"I would, but that's no fun! I'll cuff Harry though, so you guys are even. Maybe I should cuff you guys together!" Katherine ranted while walking towards Harry. "This might hurt a bit~" Katherine kicked him the head, knocking Harry out once again.
"Katherine! Why did you do that?"
"I can't untie him if he's awake! You're so silly!" She let out a loud giggle, untied him, cuffed his left arm to my right arm, and exited the room.
I glanced at Harry. He was very attractive, which was going to make being chained to him even more awkward. His long hair hung in front of his face, but I could still see a part of it.
"Damnit he's hot!" I angrily mumbled to myself. Of course I chose today not to wear makeup. Now I look like an ugly whore. I quickly pushed away these thoughts, looking away from him. I shouldn't be thinking about appearances right now, I had just been kidnapped after all. I was happy that I wasn't alone, having someone in the same boat as me was reassuring in a way.
Katherine returned, carrying a tall man bridal style. She had a large grin on her face, and the man she carried looked to be asleep. Or dead. Maybe both? You never know with Katherine.
"Isn't he pretty?" She asked, placing him down on the floor.
"Yes, very." I said, playing along.
"You hoes better not try and take my man!"
"I promise, I will not. He isn't my type." The boy in question wasn't ugly, although he did look nervous, even while he was sleeping.
He had messy black hair, and hickies trailing down his neck. I felt bad for him, he has just the type of guy Katherine would want. She was always into pretty boys, she said she liked her guys skinny, so he could squeeze into tight spaces easier. I never thought too much of it back then, but it made a lot of sense right now.
Katherine touched his face, before booping his nose. "Who's hungry? I got Taco Bell!" Katherine said, reminding me of her addiction to quesadillas.
My stomach rumbled loudly, answering for me. Katherine ran out the room again, lugging Charles over her shoulder. She through a bag of Tacos down the steps but did not return herself.
"What the fuck have I gotten myself into?"
