Monday, a week later
"Good morning." I blushed."Hi." Jared smiled, letting all his pretty white teeth show.
Hopping in his car, I sat in the passenger seat pecking his cheek and strapping my seatbelt on.
"You know you don't have to get up so early to pick me up for school right. You deadass live mad far from me. I could only imagine how early you waking up just to come over here." I smiled.
"Why? I can't pick you up?" He asked.
"I mean you can but the effort I mean-" I chuckled, before he cut me off.
"I could tell you not used to this." He shook his head, starting the car and pulling out from in front of my house.
"I mean..." I started before he cut me off.
"Don't lie. You not." He shrugged.
"Okay you right. My ex ain't never did no shit like this fa me." I snickered, thinking about it. I tried not to but at times like this how could I not?
"Thats crazy...how could he not?" He questioned.
"I-I don't know." I shrugged.
"He was prolly a bum." Jared said. "Not like me though. That nigga ain't got nun on me."
"Could we change the subject." I chuckled.
"Y-yeah. We could mama. No problem." He nodded.
I took a deep breath, looking out the window.
"You know next week makes one month since we met." He smiled.
"YOU WERE COUNTING?" I cackled.
"What? You weren't?" He asked.
"I mean...no cause like I don't pay attention to time like that. I live in the moment." I answered.
"Aight...I respect ya answer." He said.
"Those aren't my intentions though. I promise." I said.
"Ma it's okay." He chuckled, resting his hand on my thigh.
I looked up at him giving him a small smile before turning away. Then I stared out the window while he rubbed on my thigh as he drove. I liked the feeling. It gave me a sense of safeness and security. It also set a mood. It was raining, we had low music playing in the car, on our way to school. It was such a vibe in my opinion.
"Whatchu doin after school?" He asked, slightly squeezing on my thigh. "I was thinking I could take you to the mall or sum. Maybe the movies or some shit if it's still raining."
"Damn. I wish wasn't doing anything but I'm still working on my painting with Milo." I sighed.
He let go of my leg.
"Wait...painting?" He scoffed confusingly. I looked up at him. His eyes stayed on the road while his brows were furrowed and both of his hands gripped the steering wheel.
"Yeah." I shrugged. "We started it about 3 weeks ago. It's almost finished."
"You never told me this ma." He chuckled.
"I mean...I didn't think it was that important for me to tell anyone." I scoffed.
"True." He nodded.
There was a small silence before he spoke again.
"So y'all go to his crib or..." He asked.
"Does it matter?" I asked.
