Milo was acting weird but since when didn't he. I mean I didn't mind it. I actually thought it was cute but today it was just super different. He didn't even say 'I love you' back like he usually did. Or kiss me a bunch of times. He was just being a weirdo.

I looked over at him driving in the car.

"You excited fa your birthday next month?" I asked resting my hand on his thigh as he drove.

He looked down at it, utterly confused. So I removed it. He noticed and immediately answered my question stuttering and sounding nervous.

"I- I mean it's whatever." He chuckled, putting his hand behind his neck.

"You okay?" I asked him.

"Yeah, yeah you know. Chillin." He shrugged keeping his eyes glued to the road.

I took a deep breath.

The last few months with Milo have been amazing. I was in love with this man. We just clicked like two soulmates should. We both had the same interests, preferences, movie tastes, food tastes. A match made in heaven. The best boyfriend I could honestly ask for.

He was so so loving and so so caring. He always brought my mood up when I needed it the most and I was so thankful for that shit.

Waking up to his face almost every morning whether he was in my bed or through face time was all I needed to have a good day. Our mornings would start off simple. We'd wake up at the crack of dawn and either sit on his roof or my stoop and watch the sunset. Depending on the weather, we would drive out to the park and watch it on the hills.

Then after it was up, we would start our day with breakfast, followed by painting, sleeping in, and hanging out in the city all day. Doing shit I've never done before. Visiting all types of places I've never been too.

He really made me appreciate living in New York a lot more than when I did before I met him.

There was a whole new side to it I haven't seen before. It wasn't just the Times Square bright lights and shit. There was so. much. more.

"Where we going?" I asked him, exhaling the tension in my chest.

"We actually...here." He said pulling into a mall parking lot.

"Oh...the mall?" I questioned. We only went the mall when he wanted to buy me shit. He knew I didn't fuck with the materialistic lifestyle so he only took me when there was a special occasion.

"Yeah. You don't like the mall?" He asked.

"I mean...it's fine. It just forces us to be more social with other people." I answered. "You seen my phone?"

"Nah you prolly left it at the house." I shrugged.

"Fuck man." I huffed. I didn't really need it being that it was dry. But it just made me feel more safe.

"It's okay. You got me to keep you company. Look. Ima keep my phone inna car so you won't feel left out." He smirked, taking his phone from his pocket.

Couldn't help but smile at his gesture. "You don't have to."

"But I'm gonna." He said, opening my side of the car. "Now cmon. I got somewhere I wanna take you."

I loved this man with my whole heart. He was so considerate. "Can I have a piggy back ride on the way inside."

He pursed his lips to the side. "Uhhhhhh...ion know bout that."

"Boy why is you acting brand new? You always give me one. It's like an unspoken thing between us." I chuckled.

He looked like he almost choked on his spit. "It is?"
