Chapter 2:
"I'm sorry girls, the only room available for you is the biggest one, a shared 3 person dorm. The other students have filled in everything else."
"But Mrs. Williams, are there no more 2 person dorms?" Amanda leaned forward, her face creasing into a worried frown.
"No Amanda, I'm sorry." Here's the key to your dorm room." She slid two plastic room cards over the desk.
"Alright Mrs. Williams. Thank you." I answered.
As we stepped out of the principal's office, Amanda huffed.
"It's so not fair!"
"Woah calm down Amanda, at least it's the biggest dorm room."
"Hopefully."
"I examined the key and at the end it said, "133" on a silver label.
"We're supposed to be in dorm 133. Which direction is that?"
"It's... That way." Amanda grimaced at the sign which pointed towards the staircase.
"Ughhh, why were we stationed up so high?" I complained, dragging my feet.
"You go on first April, I need to pee. I'll be right with you soon." Amanda smirked and waved.
"Sure? If you say so...."
I started the long climb, and pretty soon, my hair was plastered onto my face and neck with sweat.
As soon as I arrived upstairs, aka 3 flights of long, steep stairs later, I dragged myself over the last step panting.
Ding! At the end of the narrow hallway, an elevator door opened.
"April, did you enjoy your hike up here?" Amanda smiled, stepping out.
"What?! There was an elevator and we climbed the stairs?? Amanda why didn't you- Oh my gosh you evil girl!"" I stroked my poor strained muscles pitifully.
"Oh well, what's done is done." She replied with a smooth and sweet tone, but I didn't miss the mischievous gleam in her eye.
She slid her card into the slot and swung open the door. Boom, we were met with a cozy room.
