After seeing April's texts, I hurried over as fast as I could. Before I could enter the dorm, I felt an arm grasping me, and tightly too.

"Hi Autumn! What's the hurry?" Brittany, the girl who was our dorm neighbour asked.

She was in the "popular girl gang" and with chilli red lipstick, makeup 1 inch thick, and a Cheshire cat smile, it was impossible not to notice her.

The thought struck me that she was living a floor down and there were no other dorms on the third level, but I just brushed it away.

"It's one of my friends, she's not feeling well. Sorry Brittany, I have to hurry." I shook her arm off, trying to look apologetic.

"Alright.. But my name's Brittany.." She mumbled.

"Sorry Brittany!" I said, closing the door. Brittny didn't seem like a trustable person because her personality just felt staged, not genuine.

As I entered the dining room, I was met with April sitting on the floor, knocking on the kitchen door, trying fruitlessly to coax Amanda out.

"Why isn't she coming out?" I mouthed to April. She shrugged and shook her head.

"I don't know. She's just really quiet in there." April whispered back, chewing her lip anxiously.

"Amanda? Can you open the door?" I knocked, pressing my ear to listen if she was crying.

"N-no, I look like a *sniff* mess." Amanda lisped, her voice shaking as she replied.

"Of course, everyone looks a mess when they cry. I do too, but it doesn't matter. I'm not your friend just because of looks. We won't judge, I promise."

Sniffing, I heard soft footsteps and the door creaked open.

"Thanks... and sorry for doubting if you guys were my friends.. You guys were just looking out for me, but I took it as being snobby. I'm really-" Before Amanda could finish speaking, tears overtook her again and she just sat down and cried.
