Chapter 2 : "Waning Crescent"

Chambers of the Moon, 1668

As the mother was watching her child glancing happily at her, she couldn't keep her smile away. Even in a million times, Selene will never be tired of watching her daughter staring at her all night, every night. Selene was the happiest. For her daughter always finds herself safe and secure just by watching her above the dark skies.

Selene would always shine upon her daughter's eyes, but there was always a missing piece. The missing piece she needed, in order to fully shine and glimmer along with the twinkling stars from the endless night sky. The missing piece she needed in order to not miss her 3rd primary phase. It was her daughter.

She needed her daughter's presence near her in order to experience full-contentment. Watching her was never enough.

Selene wanted to hug her, kiss her, show her how much she loves her and cherish every single moment with her. She wants to be the perfect mother. She just wants to live a normal life together with her daughter and her significant other. She was a lonesome.

Even the moon that shines the brightest at night felt alone with the countless numbers of stars around her.

After the day Endymion was killed, Zeus took away Hyperion's authority to govern the heavens. That day, all of them found out that Endymion was Zeus's secret child.

Selene was happy because Zeus bought him back to life as a God. Endymion was the ruler of the Sun together with Selene's brother, Helios.

Lunar and Solar Eclipse.

Spring was the most valued time for the sun and the moon, they could finally be together even if it was only for an hour or so. Endymion loved Selene so much that he had to set down every night just to let her breathe and to show the people how beautiful she was.

They were lovers that always chase, but almost miss one another. But once in a while, they do catch up, and they kiss. The world would stare at them in awe. People called it eclipse.

Paralia Meadows, 1668

Heading towards where the sound of sea waves came from, Scarlett was wearing her usual Red hood in case someone would see her out in the forest in the middle of the night. At least it would cover up some parts of her so that she won't be easily recognized.

She was getting closer to her destination as her eyes caught sight of the sands nearby. She decided to lay down in the blooming flower fields and rest for a bit, for she was exhausted from all the running from her house to the opposite side of the area. She caught a glimpse of the moon again.

"We are very alike, part of us was always hidden away."

As she was staring at the beautiful crescent-shaped waning moon, the cool breeze hit her skin causing her to shiver.

"It's really cold today." She muttered to herself.

As she was about to stand up, the sudden rapid movements behind the bushes startled her.it was unbelievably fast that she couldn't even see it's body and bare face. It was just like her kind. the moving creature has the fast running attribute of vampires. In her mind, it would be impossible if another of her kind would still exist in this world other than herself. She was convinced that it was just a fast running animal playing or hunting around the forest for food.

"I guess it's just some wild animals, chasing each other or hunting for food."

As she was walking towards the white sands by the sea, loud caws filled her ears making her turn to look back, but she immediately regretted looking back as the crow's claw came in contact with her left cheek leaving a scratch in it.
