First Element

Realizing Junmyeon had seen her two different colored eyes, Pearl shouted, "I'm not a monster!" Pearl ran into her house then locked the door, she dropped her body to sit leaning against the door and then cried, remembering how people treated her when they saw her true eye colors when she forgot to wear blue contact lenses. Pearl heard Junmyeon's shout from behind the door, "I believe you are not a monster!!"

Knowing that Pearl lived alone in an abandoned house had made Junmyeon worry, he came to Pearl's house once in a while to accompany Pearl because she didn't have anyone in Seoul. As time went by, Pearl and Junmyeon became close.

Pearl told Junmyeon that she actually ran away from home and followed Kris to Seoul. After the basketball match was over, Kris had returned to Canada but Pearl decided to stay in Seoul. Pearl didn't want to return because her parents would force her to go to the hospital again to do the tests to find the cure for her illness. Pearl believed her illness had no cure, so she wanted to spend her remaining life to do whatever she wanted.

4 months later.

Sehun and Jongin already had plans to spend Christmas holidays together at Sehun's house, but Jongin suddenly fell sick and Jongin never picked up Sehun's call. After a week of not being able to contact Jongin, Sehun became worried, so he went to Jongin's house to find out what had happened to Jongin.

"Jongin is sleeping now. He just took his medicine," said Jongin's older sister. Sehun asked, "What kind of sickness does Jongin have?" Jongin's mom replied, "We took Jongin to see 3 doctors, all doctors said the same, nothing's wrong with Jongin." Jongin's older sister said worriedly, "But Jongin kept groaning in pain whenever he was awake, he said he felt burning inside and great pain all over his body... We can't bear to see him in pain so we give him sleeping pills."

Sehun said, "May I see Jongin? I won't disturb him." Jongin's mom nodded. "Thank you," said Sehun. "Come with me," said Jongin's older sister, then she took Sehun to the front of Jongin's room and left Sehun alone.

When Sehun opened the door, he was surprised to see Jongin dancing energetically. Sehun asked in shock, "What are you doing??? Aren't you sick??" Jongin smiled widely and said excitedly, "I'm fine now! Let's go to your house to spend Christmas holidays together!" Sehun asked uncertainly, "Are you sure?" Jongin nodded hard.

Sehun laughed and said, "When did the last time you take a shower? You smell bad." Jongin asked, "What date is today?" Sehun answered, "December 23, 2011." Jongin shouted, "Oh no!! I have wasted 7 days of my holidays without doing anything!!" Sehun laughed and said, "Go take a shower!"

Jongin went into his bathroom to take a shower. When Jongin brushed his teeth while facing the mirror in his bathroom, he saw something on his forehead. 

Jongin grumbled in his heart, "It must be noona (older sister)'s doing. She drew something on my forehead when I was sleeping." Jongin washed his forehead with soap many times but the drawing was still there. Jongin grumbled irritably in his heart, "Shit! Did noona use permanent marker? "

When Jongin came out from the bathroom irritably, Sehun asked confusedly, "What's wrong?" Jongin said while pointing his finger at his forehead, "How can I go out with this on my forehead? Noona must take responsibility for what she has done." Sehun said confusedly, "What has your noona done? There is nothing wrong with your forehead."

Jongin said irritably, "The drawing on my forehead!" "There is nothing on your forehead," said Sehun. Jongin asked to make sure, "You can't see it?" Sehun asked back, "See what?" Jongin ran leaving Sehun who was confused.

Jongin ran to look for his older sister, then he asked her what she had done. Jongin's older sister was confused because she did nothing. Knowing that his older sister also couldn't see it, Jongin returned to his room to get dressed.

Sehun asked, "Jongin-ah, what's wrong?" "Nothing... Let's go," said Jongin. After convincing his mom and older sister that he was fine, Jongin went with Sehun to Sehun's house.

Meanwhile at Junmyeon's house...

Junmyeon was told to tidy his bedroom by his mom. Junmyeon turned on the portable vacuum cleaner and started to clean his book shelf from dust. The black box fell to the floor because of Junmyeon's carelessness. Junmyeon gasped in shock, "Oh no!"

Junmyeon turned off the portable vacuum cleaner and said anxiously, "Hopefully the stick is not broken, otherwise appa will definitely kill me." When Junmyeon took the black box from the floor, he saw a drawing of a silver symbol on the black box cover, and there was a silver writing below the symbol.

Junmyeon stared at the symbol of the first element that appeared on the cover of the black box while wondering, "What is this?... It looks like a symbol... Kai?... What is Kai? What does it mean? "
