Ding dong. I had a little moist palm and was a bit nervous. I wasn’t often out with the boys in this way. It was exciting. Daniel and Sandra out, so I had to do it last alone. "Hey Niall. I will come down now " I said in the telephone at the door. "That sounds good."
For each stair steps I took my heart knocked faster and faster. He was sweet, but he was also a bit unknown to me. I opened the door to the street and ......

And there he stood. His smile was big and he looked me in the eyes when I came out. This time he did not have sunglasses or a cap on. His face was more visible. He had a bright jeans, a gray t-shirt on. His blonde hair was set well. He reached out to me, "You look great, Isabella" I could feel my cheeks get hot and probably red. His smile was bigger then my reaction came on his comment. I got a smile for him between my nervousness and uncertainty. "Shall we go?" He brought me down to the car which was a rented black Range Rover.

The door was held for me and I got in. "You are a true gentleman. Thank you. There are not many here in Denmark." He looked puzzled at me. "Well. You need to do something like that as a guy. I have rented this car and thought that we should get away from the big city. I hope you are with the idea. I have heard of a little place outside Copenhagen" The car started and we drive to the highway. The atmosphere was good and the talk was always going. "Do you have a special interests in cars?" I asked and I should never have started the conversation because now he talked constantly about cars and models. I laughed and listened with yes and no sometimes. It was clear that he loved a good car - and it was sweet. After he discovered that the car conversation was perhaps not the best topic we were talking about in our own lives. He talked about his home town of Mullingar, his big brother Greg, Greg's girlfriend and Theo who is his nephew. Of course I told about my family too - which eventually was big with 4 nephews and nieces - and my four siblings. I also talked about my study and the subjects I had to teach in. The conversation went so easily and it felt like we had known each other long. There was a sense of security in the conversation that made that I wanted to involve me and listen.

"We are almost here, beautiful." The word beautiful went straight into my stomach. He is too cute. We drove up next to the most beautiful and cozy house I had ever seen. We were driven away from the city and the house was in the country. I don’t think many people knew about this place. Wild trees grew around the gray stone house. It was idyllic and a bit romantic. Niall (course) opened the car door for me, and we both looked against the house. Niall was looked just as surprised by the beautiful place as me. "Have you been here before?" I asked him. "No. I have heard about the place from one of my good Danish friends. She said the place was cozy and very well. I think it was an understatement! This place is well.... I have no words." I smiled at him. "Agree. Let's go in and look at this indescribably beautiful place." There was not dark, but it was getting it. There were lights all the way up to the front door

The door got open and the waiter said welcome Mr. Horan. It was very formal and I suddenly felt a little uncomfortable about the situation ... As if I did not belong and I stopped up to look around. Niall spoke to the waiter about something I did not hear because I was busy looking around the room. The walls were also of stone and where were beautiful pictures of the area and its animals. It was a good photographer. The atmosphere was nice and people seemed to enjoy their dinner with their friend, family or other. Suddenly Niall grab my hand and the worries in me disappear. Niall look quickly at me with a reassuring glance - as if he could read my insecurities at the place of the formal setup. We were going over to our table and Niall showed the way. The waiter asked for drinks and told us about the menu. "Isabella. What do you say to a red wine and the today's special? It sounds pretty good. Right?" It was a delicious steak with some salad and potatoes. "I say that I think it sounds good. Very nice" Waiter disappeared, but quickly came back with a bottle of red wine.

"Cheers to a good night" I said, taking the glass. "Cheers to how lucky I am" I looked wonderingly at him after he had said it. "Yes, that I can to sit here with beautiful you." He smiled big and tried to read if it were too sweet. I was in few seconds stiff and then it came. My cheeks were hot again, as when he said I looked good earlier. "Stop with all the compliments. I am simply not good to them." We laughed together. "It surprise me. I think that you may be used to them." Hm. Is he too sweet? Used to compliments? Me. No! "I'm certainly not used to many compliments." The talk was suddenly very private and we began to talk about relationships in the past.

I talked about my ex-boyfriend who cheated on me five times, but still claims it has not happened. I was with the guy for 2.5 years and it happened regularly. I was blinded by love then and I needed to feel safe. We were very open and it was nice. I was (lucky me) wiser and came out of the relationship. The first few months alone in bed at night was tough, but today I feel good about it. I have made so many things for myself now. The food came to the table and the talk continued. Niall told me about his many not serious relationships and said that he never had a real girlfriend ever. Not that he wouldn’t have a serious girlfriend, but his job has made it difficult for him. I could tell that it was a difficult subject. "Your job is to be a musician?" He laughed at me, and my face turned into a question mark. "Yes. It's my job and I love it very much. We get to travel the world and see places like here where we are now. I have met many different types of people and one of the best things about the job is the support for the music." He said with a great passion and the talk went on the many places he had seen. Special and strange places - He had many good stories, but actually he avoided “the job as a musician” as a subject. I left the subject and listened to his crazy and funny stories.

The time went by faster than ever. We were busy with telling each other crazy stories - and busy just to know each other before the evening was over. The main-course was eaten and we sat with the most delicious dessert, which were different cakes on a platter. With a fork in our hands, we shared the cakes on the dish and ate a little of each cake - whichever we just wanted to taste. We laughed and had eye contact was almost all the time. He made me calm with his smile, and he made me feel at home with the quite relaxing personality.

"It's a long time since I've laughed so much in one evening!" I said after many of the cakes were eaten. He looked up from the cakes and deep into my eyes. My stomach was about to burst. "The same here. It is so cozy. I feel that I can be 100% myself with you. I meet many people, but you are something special Miss Anderson" His eyes were still deep in the mine. "Niall. Now you are doing it again. I can’t cope with the sweet words." We laughed and he apologized in fun.

I went to the bathroom and when I came out Niall stood with my jacket in his hand. With a friendly and secretive voice he said quickly "We have to move on now." "Thank you for food. And thank you for showing me this wonderful place. Where are we going?”
