"Welcome aboard Flight Number 394. I will be your captain for today. My name is..."
Hermione closed her eyes and ignored the rest of the flight announcement. It seemed all too trivial for her, especially since she was a trained witch already.
Muggle transportation, she had decided, was bothersome and full of problems. But then again, so was Apparition. She had decided to take this flight for the novelty of it. Glancing at the empty seat next to her, she suddenly missed Ron.
Austrailia would be a new and strange country for her. But it was going to be worth it.
Because Austrailia would be where she could finally reunite with her parents. Soon after the Battle of Hogwarts, she had asked McGonagall for a month's leave from the school to search for them. Ron had asked to accompany her, but she declined the invitation.
"You're going to be a surprise, Ron. Besides, I need to do this alone."
Sighing, she relaxed into her seat. It was going to be a long flight.

The plane arrived safely in the airport. As the plane ground to a stop, and the cabin doors unlocked, Hermione took up her luggage and headed straight for customs.
Thirty minutes and no Confundus Charms later, Hermione walked out of the airport. Hailing a taxi, she unfolded a piece of paper. On it was scribbled the address in Melbourne in which Mr and Mrs Wilkins were residing.
She handed it to the taxi driver without a word. The taxi then sped off toward their destination. As the taxi sped on, Hermione planned on what she would do next. Her thoughts flew to her beloved Ron. He was currently pursuing a job at the Ministry as an Auror. With Harry by his side, she was confident that they would make a good team.

Hermione tipped the taxi driver as she alighted from the taxi at the parents' place. Taking in the cool Melbourne air, she steeled herself and rang the doorbell.
Seconds later, the door opened. The familiar face of her mother appeared in the doorway.
'I'm sorry, do I know you, Miss-?'
Hermione smiled and took out her wand. She pointed it at her mother and said: "I've missed you too, mom."
END.
