"Why do you hate meeee." Kyle whined as I pulled him out of bed. It was Monday, pretty much the first day of school. If you're wondering about the whole dorms being open thing, that's probably just so that we can set up all our furniture before school starts. I sighed, wishing that I didn't have to go to school for an extra few years, though my parents wouldn't listen to my preferences in education.

"Kyle, I don't hate you." I said, prying his fingers off of the end of his bed, then dragging him over to the closet so he could get up and pick out clothes. "I mean, I don't hate you that much, anyway." I said, smirking as he huffed out a loud noise through his nose in annoyance.

"You're lucky I'm too tired to walk over to my bed, but, the problem for you now is that you have to hold me up or I'm going to lay on the floor like a disobedient cat." He said, smiling innocently at me.

"You aren't a disobedient cat?" I replied, sounding confused. "Shocker."

If you didn't know, Kyle and I have been best friends for years, ever since we were kids. In fact, his mother and my mom were best friends since highschool, so our was practically carved into stone when we were born.

We considered each other family. Like brother-sister family, only, instead of fighting all the time, we just caused trouble. I was closer to him than anyone else, but I still had friends of my own (even if most of my friends were people I met through him). Also, If you think there's anything other than friendship going on between me and Kyle, you'd definitely be wrong. I mean, we dated once, but that was for five seconds just to say we've had experience in the dating world.

Kyle and I were too close to actually date, and we both knew that. Though our moms did try to get us to once or twice.

Why am I telling you all of this? Well, because I don't want you to think anything's going on between me and him.

Anyway, back to what was actually going on.

"If you make me dress you, I'll put everything on you backwards." I warned him, once again trying to pull the man to his feet, putting up with his whines of protest.

"Ew don't touch me, nerd." He joked, as I finally managed to pull him up. He wobbled, probably because he didn't consider that I could possibly be strong enough. "You... Wench." He laughed, turning his attention to some clothes. "Go to class. I'll see you later. Save me a seat." He said, not realising I had already turned to leave.

Whether he missed his first day or not, was not my problem, but he probably knew that I would definitely tell his mom if he did, or hold it against him so I wouldn't have to do late-night peace tea trips anymore. Yeah... Definitely the latter.

I made my way to where my classes were being held, being the first in class for once. At least, I thought so, until I saw a green mess of hair slowly rise from the desk, sticker on his forehead, pencil in his hand, and a triumphant look on his face. He eyes drifted over to me, and a goofy smile found it's way across his lips. It was contagious.

"[Y/N]!" He called out happily, waving me down as I made my way over. "You're in music?" He asked, his smile becoming lopsided. My heart fluttered momentarily, but I dismissed it, reminding myself that I had only met him recently and I was in his band. I didn't want to ruin anything.

Not yet, anyway.

"Yeah! I'm so happy to see you there. Are you saving those seats for Otto and Geoff?" I asked, hoping he'd say no. To my delight, he responded with a shake of his head, wordlessly answering with a 'no.'

"They go to a university somewhere too far to walk to. But too close to listen to the entire danger days album on the car ride." He replied, being oddly specific. I nodded.
