Stealthily, the group of seven had been led by Fangs Fogarty, who was directing the group to where he had seen Hot Dog earlier that day. From the truck, the group were spying on the Ghoulies' lair, searching for any sign of anyone, as their eyes scanned the perimeter. All seven could hear the whining and yapping coming from the poor, innocent Hot Dog, and with each time he yelped, Aria Queens wanted to save him from those animal-like gang members even more. The strawberry-blonde, who was crouched in the back of the truck with Cheryl and Toni, was sighing, her eyes fixed on the innocent white dog.
"It's been an hour and there's been no sign of anyone," Toni finally spoke, eager to rescue their dog. Aria raised her brows in agreement, turning her head towards the faux-pink girl. Since the summer, as she'd been away for months with Cheryl, the two once best friends had drifted apart, and Aria had spent more time with Betty, Reggie, Jughead, Fangs and Sweet Pea, rather than her best friend. In fact, the two weren't best friends anymore, but they would always be close.
"All right. Sweet Pea?" started Jughead, looking up towards the tallest of the group after swallowing a chip. Aria chuckled softly; Jughead was always eating, no matter the scenario. Even on a 'stealth mission'. Jughead placed the half-full empty bag in the truck, and he took out some large pliers. "You guys keep lookout." The beanie-wearing boy left the group, as the remaining six serpents got ready. Cheryl stood up, an arrow nocked in her bow, ready to shoot any Ghoulie that might creep out from the shadows. Aria sat on the edge of the truck, her legs dangling between Betty and Fangs as her eyes rested on Jughead Jones.
From the distance, Aria could see Jughead make his way towards Hot Dog, stroking the practically starved dog. The girl tapped her fingers against the side of the truck, gnawing on her bottom lip. At any moment, a Ghoulie could attack. And if they did, it would take an awful lot to prevent another gang war; nobody wanted a repeat of Riot Night. Aria, who was known to be quite fidgety, scrambled fully inside the back of the truck, kneeled at the side between Cheryl and Toni.
However, as soon as Jughead cut the chain, lights began to shine down from all directions, towards the boy. Betty visibly tense, as Aria began to hammer her fingers against the side of the truck. "Hiya, Jonesy," spoke the obnoxiously loud voice of Penny Peabody, and Aria scowled towards the blonde, whom she despised with a heavy passion. Jughead dropped the pliers. "Welcome back to the Southside."
Betty began to step forwards, however Cheryl gripped her shoulder and pulled her back, and the group glanced towards them as they could hear the girl's body collide with the truck. "Cheryl..." Grunted the blonde.
"Not yet, Cousin." Warned Cheryl, and Aria clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth, glancing down towards Fangs Fogarty, whose hand rested beneath his chin as they waited for the perfect moment to strike and save both Jughead and Hot Dog.
"I thought this mangy mutt might get you to show up," taunted Penny, making her way over with the gang of freaks behind her, like a flock of mismatched sheep following their demonic Shepard. The group from behind her slowly began to circle around Jughead, and if he made one incorrect, sudden move, both him and Hot Dog would be hurt, or maybe even dead. "We need to talk."
"No, we don't, Penny." Amended Jughead daringly, and Aria tensed with each word, as the Ghoulies slowly edged closer to the boy. "I'm here for the dog." Jughead added innocently, slowly bending down to pick up Hot Dog.
Aria noticed Fangs look upwards from the corner of her eye, and she looked down towards him. "He'll be fine." The serpent boy assured, and Aria nodded her head.
