Dr. Panoma was finding out that the two subjects had more in common than she had thought. Both can withstand extreme temperatures. Both have extremely high pain tolerances; Dakota practically feels nothing at all. But Dr. Panoma is hesitant about the validity of that. He feels something, but it just doesn't bother him anymore. Maybe after a lifetime of being poked and prodded at, he became desensitized to everything. That was the least of her concerns though; the real question is who's blood is stronger. Two drops of blood on a glass slide under a microscope are more important than they may seem. Yes, to Dr. Panoma and the rest of the Andromeda galaxy, this is the most sacred blood in the whole universe. This blood will determine the future of Andromeda— and the Milky Way.
"Dr. Panoma, we have the results." Informed an assistant.
She jumped in her office chair.
"Could you knock first? You scared my internal monologue away!"
"Sorry, ma'am."
"This better be worth it." She grumbled. In the lab, all the assistants were lined up around the entrance to greet the director. Marvus Davey, the manager of the research team, was waiting proudly with a cage in his hand. She approached him doubtfully.
"Meet Stuart. He is the answer you're looking for."
"Davey, I'm looking at a mouse. Why am I looking at a mouse?" She said exasperated.
"This mouse is our success story. You see, when the blood cells are mixed outside of the body, they destroy each other. Neither one overpowers the other, they become defects and act as normal blood cells would," He explained. "But we had overlooked something that was right in front of us: Algernon. Dakota had practiced resurrecting that mouse however many times, and each time the blood had stayed in his system. We injected Stuart with Malakai's blood and it died as expected. But here's the catch: it was able to be resurrected with Dakota's blood."
Dr. Panoma looked down, trying to piece together what he was saying.
"Upon closer observation, we found out that Stuart still has Malakai's blood in his veins."
Dr. Panoma's eyes widened. She looked up at Davey with both fear and excitement.
"Does this mean..."
Davey nodded.
"We have the means to make a catalyst."
