It's the beginning of school. Richie finally got the guts to ask Eddie out, Ben and Bev are dating and the rest of the losers just sit back and watch.
Every day Richie and Eddie would sit on the bench under the Dream Tree after school. They never knew but Stanley would sit and read his bird books or journal about bird. Stan always liked birds, to him they where a sign, a sign that one day every thing was going to be all right, that one day he was going to be happy. Stan would watch Eddie and Richie every day, through spring and fall, and the three would always watch the rain.
Dear diary, I saw a cardinal today. I want a relationship like Eddie's and Richie's. But for now I'm good with my birds. I've seen five pigeons today, they all look the same but different. I'm still sitting and waiting for them to notice me.
Stan wrote, waiting for a response he knew would never come. He didn't realize how much he had wrote about Eddie and Richie until a few days ago when Bowers stole his diary and read it. Luckily only the Bowers Gang was around and none of the losers ever found out.
Morning of that day Stan had slept in, his mother excused it for him having a slight cold and so he got an excuse to be late. Stan walked into his class his eyes locked on his shoes counting his steps. 91, 92, 93, 94, the numbers growing higher and higher until he reached his seat. He looked around to see if his friends where there, Bill Denbrough "stuttering Bill" was there. Bill glanced over and gave him a welcoming smile. Stan sat there as the teacher rambled on about history. Stan was good in history but never really liked it. It seemed he could remember the answers to each test but didn't pay much attention. Stan kept us jaw tight and his journal close.
Late in the day they all met up at lunch  Mike, Ben, Bev, and Bill where talking about the staff and how they weren't good at their job while the other three (Stan, Richie and Eddie) talked about random things that would lead onto another random thing with the occasional "your mama" "I f*cked your mom" or  "f*ck you" from Richie and a small giggle from Eddie.
Stan admired Eddies laugh. Stan admired the two in general. He would dream about spending time with the two.
After lunch the group would split up, Unfortunately Stan picked the wrong area to sit. Stan day there weighting in his diary as Henry Bowers approached him. Stan tried to run but Henry quickly cached up. Henry grabbed Stan by his shirt and threw him to the ground. Stanley clutched his diary close to his chest in hopes that the Bowers gang wouldn't get to it. Patrick grabbed the child and held him so Henry could grab the book and read it. He flipped to random pages in the book his book.
Dear diary, Eddie is so cute! Richie is so lucky. Both of them are so luckily it have each other. They are like birds in the wind flying high
The page read. Stanley frozen on the ground listening to his words being said out loud.
"Jesus f*ck, your just a little f*gg*t with two boyfriends" He heard Henry say right above him.
Eddie's and Richie's names kept popping up. As if it was a love story involving the two. It hurt Stan. To hear those words being said. After a good 10 minutes of the words " Richie and Eddie-" repeated the Bowers Gang cut the chase and started kicking and punching. Stan lay in terroir with blood down his face.
After maybe a half hour or so of punching and kicking they stopped. Stan got up and ran to his house. He didn't go to school the next day in fear of making people worry. In fact he wouldn't even let his own mother look at him.
