Killian
"I'm proud of you Killian. Don't stop now, it's too late to turn back now. Do what needs to be done and get the justice that we deserve. If you fail I won't hesitate to blame you for my death. Don't forget what they did to me." I was waiting, in one of the rooms, for the guy in charge of the gang when I heard her voice in my head again.
"You're right Melody, it is too late. I won't stop. I'm doing what needs to be done." I took a deep breath, hearing the words I had said in reply, silence entering the room moments after. My wait was over when three of them came into the room. One of them was Melody's killer, the others were the one that gave me the mask and the leader.
"You want to earn our trust?" The leader spoke with a rough voice, his words almost echoing in the otherwise silent room. I nodded slightly and told him how I had killed Melody's parents for them. I received a quick, simple nod in reply as the three of them turned around and started talking. When they all turned back around to look at me, the leader lowered his head, pulling out a gun and pointing it at me.
"Tell me why? Why should we trust you just because you killed some dead girls parents?" They waited a moment for my response. I couldn't tell them that she was my best friend. I couldn't risk giving myself away so, I told them that I had no reason to earn distrust. I reasoned simply and calmly with them, relief washing over my face as the gun was lowered.
Just as I was about to let my guard down, the gun went off, putting a hole in the timber floor board, right in front of my foot. The leader laughed bluntly, turning the safety on before throwing the gun at me. All three of them glared at me for a while before Melody's killer spoke up.
"We have just one more... problem..." He glared intensely at me for a moment before continuing. He explained about how when he killed Melody, there was someone else with her. I started to panic, trying my hardest to remain visibly calm. He told me that they didn't know what he looked like, but they knew who he was. They wanted me to deal with the problem so, I obliged.
I walked out of the house and walking into town a bit before calling a taxi to take me home. Walking inside, I looked around to find my parents. Panicking when my mother walked around the corner, I knocked her out with the butt of the gun. I dragged her over to tie her to a chair in the kitchen before looking for my father.
I went out to the back yard, having no luck of finding him inside. I went straight to his shed. Knocking on the door, I heard him call out. I took a deep breath, apologising as I tuned the safety off and opened the door, shooting him without a second thought. I heard my mother scream from inside as I stared at my father, falling to the ground. It seemed like the world had slowed the moment the bullet ricocheted towards him.
I quickly ran back inside to where my mother was. Aiming the gun at her, I felt a tear roll down my cheek as I looked her in the eyes. The look on her face, as I watched the words 'I'm sorry' leave her mouth, replicated Melody's perfectly. The bullet left the gun, my hand feeling like it hadn't even moved in the slightest as my mother went limp in the chair.
I quickly shot a random bullet, pretending to shoot myself, in case they were keeping an eye on me, before running out of the house. I knew what I had done, but it was all for Melody. Melody was all that I could think of. Her words replayed through my mind the entire time. It didn't make sense. I know Melody too well, but I listened. I listened to the words I know Melody would never say. She would never want me to hurt anyone, let alone our own parents. She most certainly would never blame me for her death, but I still listened.
"I'm sorry Melody. I don't know why I did what I did, but please, forgive me. I don't hear your words anymore. I hear lies in your voice. I know that noe, but that doesn't excuse what I've done." Tears streamed down my cheeks as I got in my parent's car and drove off. This was no longer a plan for justice for Melody. This was a plan for revenge. Revenge for my parents, Melody and her parents. This was a plan for hate and for blood.
