Melody
When I looked back in on Killian, I was horrified. Killian had knocked his mother out and was headed towards his father. I heard his apology. I watched as Killian shot his own father. The man I knew, as a second father of my own, was now dead. Killian didn't stop at that. He went back inside and killed his mother too. I knew that my best friend was gone, but it was only now that I truly believed that Killian Lehr was gone.
"I'm sorry Melody. I don;t know why I did what I did, but please, forgive me. I don't hear your words anymore. I hear lies in your voice. I know that now, but that doesn't excuse what I've done." His words echoed through the air. I didn't know what he meant by what he said, but I could sense that his intentions truly had turned to those out of hate and blood.
I was concerned for his safety, until now. Now I was scared for his life. I knew that what Killian was about to do was disastrous. I needed to make him stop. The only problem I had was that he hadn't listened to me before, but now, he's not even hearing me anymore. I didn't know what to do.
I got up from my bed and went on the search for someone, anyone who could help. Within moments, I found Beth, but she was busy with her own problems so, I went on the search for Drake. I found Drake almost as fast as I had previously found Beth.
"Melody? What's wrong?" I looked at Drake, concern and fear evident on my face. I hastily blurted out the problem. I explained what had happened, what Killian had said and that I knew he was walking into his own death. Drake acted immediately, as if he had planned for something like this to happen.
Drake took me over to Beth, not hesitating to interrupt her, where I had. He explained to her what I had told him. Within moments we were leaving through the gate. I was confused and concerned. I didn't know what was going on, but I wanted Killian to stop this madness.
When we landed on Earth, we were sitting in the car with Killian. I tried to talk to him, but he shook his head told me to leave. Unsure on if he was telling me or the other voice to get out, I tried to speak again. This time, when I waited for a reply, I got one.
"Melody, it's over. I don't want to live anymore. You, your parents, my parents... you're all dead and it's all my fault. I don't deserve to be alive anymore, but I'm not going down without keeping my promise." I watched as the tears streamed down his cheeks. His words cut like a knife. Killian had given up. After everything that had happened, Killian had given up.
I heard Drake and Beth tell me that we were approaching fast. Turning around, I told them that it wasn't working. I told them that he had given up. I told them everything they weren't able to hear. There was only one thing left we could do. We were limited on time, but we had to take the chance. Drake, Beth and I hurried back to heaven, as quickly as we could, time running out fast.
I crossed my fingers as we flew in through the gate and hurried up to the main building. I had never been there before, but this seemed as good a time as any. I have to protect him. I died to protect him, I couldn't fail now.
We stopped inside the building, the ceiling higher and larger than any I had ever seen. Running into the centre of the room, Drake and Beth explained what needed to be done. I grabbed both of their hands, each of praying for luck to be on our side. I summoned as much energy as I could to make it possible for Beth and Drake to be able to communicate with Killian. What we were doing had only been done once or twice before so, none of us actually knew how draining it would be.
Just as Drake and Beth were able to start connection with Killian, I lost my own connection. Everything was silent. I couldn't connect with him anymore. Drake asked what had happened as I fell to my knees, tears streaming down my cheeks. "He... he's gone. Killian's dead!"
