I wake up to the sun shining on my face. I decide to get up, it's 7am right now and in two hours I have to go to work. Last night, I phoned my boss, apologizing for leaving and not returning, he forgave me but warned me that this was my last chance.

I take a quick shower, throw on a random top, skinny jeans and grab my bag. I start walking down the corridor and pause at the door of Sarah's room. She's huddled in her blanket. She looks so old and the wrinkles by her eyes are so prominent. It looks like she hasn't slept for days. Her eyes suddenly open and she stares at me "Lyn, where are you going?" She whispers, closing her eyes.

"I'm going to work." I say happily and she smiles.

"Be good." Sarah says, sleepily turning to the other side.

"I will." I say walking down the stairs. I scoff down some cereal, put on my shoes and rush out the door. I start walking, looking at the trees dancing to the wind like puppets. I put on my earphones, listening to 5 seconds of summer's album the first song to play is never be it makes me feel sad and happy at the same time inside.

I decide to walk to the park because I have 1:30 hours to spare. As I enter the park I notice the sign: Meadow hill park. I can't believe I've been going to this park for months and never knew the name until now. I decide it's best for me to calm down before going to work. I sit on the brown rotting bench watching the waves gently rock back and forth. I close my eyes getting lost in the songs right now close as strangers is playing and I feel myself drifting away to the rhythm.

I feel a sudden tap on my shoulders quickly taking my earphones off to look up to see a boy with long, obviously dyed, black hair staring down at me. It looks like he has been there for awhile I feel my heart fluttering in my chest. "Can I sit here?" He asks staring intently at me, the butterflies dancing in my tummy.

I nod and move to the edge of the bench as he sits down on the other side. I look down at the floor and put my earphones back in wondering how stupid I must have looked being so deep in concentration to my music. I think about running away but he couldn't possibly be a danger to me but what if he is?... I put my earphones back in trying to forget my anxieties.

I can feel him staring at me and my heart starts beating even faster. He turns to me and I take my earphones out. "What are you listening to?" He asks, he has a deep musical voice. Why is he talking to me? why is he even here? No one comes to this park, well I thought no one did.

"Er...5 seconds of summer's album." I reply, quietly, hoping he can hear me, he nods with consideration. As he starts talking about his favourite songs, I take the opportunity to look at him. He has bright blue eyes, my favourite colour, like the little river here. He has a few freckles speckled on his cheeks, he has delicate pink lips and his long straight black hair falls to cover half his left eye and he pushes it back and I notice he as a pair of black earrings. I feel like I've seen him somewhere before but I can't have; I don't even know who he is.

I realise he is looking at me as if expecting a reply. Ugh... I was too busy staring at his face to listen what if he thinks I'm a weirdo now? I take a deep breath, "erm... what did you say?" I ask, could I be anymore awkward?

"I said what's your name?" He smiles awkwardly, I can tell he's slightly annoyed over the fact I wasn't listening.

"Oh, erm, my name is erm... Lynette," I reply "what's your name?" Why do I have to stutter so much over a simple sentence?

"I told you my name's Jay and Lynette's a pretty name."

"Erm thank you.. Jay's a nice name." He smiles and the butterflies in my tummy start going crazier than before.
"Lynette means pretty one, but I'm sure you already know that" he smiles, I didn't know it but I just smile back slightly.
