The next day in the cafeteria I sit together with Chad. His friends, Benjamin and Liam are here too. His ex-girlfriend, Camila is sitting here as well.
She's a really pretty girl. Dark black, straight hair. She's tall, taller than me. They broke up two years ago. He cheated on her with me, but I really didn't know that he had a girlfriend. How am I able to trust him now? I don't know to be honest. I just know that he is honest with me.'Liza, what do you think?' I wake up from my own thoughts. 'Sorry?' I ask. 'What do you think? Should I bleach my hair?' Liam asks. I start to laugh, 'Why would you do that?' 'I don't know, it seems cool'. 'I would if I were you,' Camila says. He smiles at Camila and looks at his phone again, he's using Snapchat filters. I jump in behind him to be in the picture. 'The dog filter, what a classic,' I joke. 'That's the only one that looks good on you,' Camila says to me. I roll my eyes. 'Everything looks good on you,' Chad says, hugging me from behind and giving me a kiss on my cheek.
I look around the cafeteria to see if I can find Sam, Olivia, and Caleb. But They are nowhere to be found. I do see someone who catches my eye. It's Alex. He is sitting by himself, reading a book. I can't see what book it is.
He's wearing a black shirt, black jeans, and black boots. He looks good. Wait! I have a boyfriend, but I can look at other boys, right?
He looks up. His eyes meet mine, I smile at him. He acts like he didn't see me because he doesn't respond to my smile. He just immediately looks back at his book.'What are you looking at?' Chad asks me. I shake my head, 'nothing'. 'I would chain her, she's looking at the new kid,' Camila says. 'Were you?' He asks me. I feel that I am turning red. 'Yeah, uhm I was trying to see what he is reading'. 'You could just ask him?' Camila says. 'No, I would not do that,' I say.
Camila stands up and walks towards the table where Alex is sitting. She sits down next to him. I see her talk to him. He doesn't seem interested in her.
She walks back to our table as nothing happened. 'He is reading some kind of poetry book, pretty boring,' she says. After school, I put my back against the wall of the living room. I sit down on the couch with a cup of tea and a chocolate chip cookie I baked last weekend. There are four chocolate chip cookies still on the plate. I bet that after two hours there are none.
I start to eat the last chocolate chip cookie when I get a text from Caleb. I drop my cookie. I can't believe what I just read.
