She blinked with heavy eye lids as her vision sharpened, the room was cold and dimly lit with blood splattered on the walls.. She blinked again, her eyes moving to the broken pipe, water dripping from it... When she blinked again, she let out a yell as a huge rat landed on her. Trying to jump up, but she was tied to the chair. Fully awake now, she grimaced at the throbbing pain in her head.

The door suddenly shot open, revealing two monster looking men.

"The little bitch has awoken!"  One of them said in a croaky voice. Diana sighed, knowing well how this works...she had done it before. Her head lay low as she awaited her fate..painful fate.

The other man fidgeted his fingers and was about to throw a punch before his brains were busted in a second, followed by a familiar authoritative voice..

"If anyone dares touch her, I. Will. Blow. Their. Heads. Off. UNDERSTOOD! "

"Ye..yes boss" The other man trembled before sprinting off.

"How is your head my dear " He smirked.

"What do you want from me Leonid " She snapped, wincing as pain shot through her head again.

"Oh honey, you don't wanna know" He chuckled before untying her and grabbing her out of the room.

Her feet could barely move, her throat was dry and head was almost exploding. Leonid got impatient and lifted her bridal style, her eyes struggling to stay open.

He entered the room with Diana in his arms, carefully setting her to bed and grabbing the hangover pills..

"For your headache " He muttered ad he handed her the pills with a glass of water, which she gladly took.

"Why are you doing this " Diana asked, her hangover instantly subsiding after taking the pills.

"Holding you hostage, or treating you nicely" He cocked a brow.

"I already know the first...so why treat me this way" She clarified and he smirked.

"You think you know...but you aren't even close to the truth" He chuckled and her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"Wh...what do you mean" She asked in a tight voice.

He stared at her for a moment, making her slightly uncomfortable...which he noticed.

"Are you hungry?" He stood up, avoiding her gaze.

"N..no" She quickly responded...and so did her stomach.

Perfect timing dear stomach. She thought, as her face flushed with embarrassment.

"Of course " He chuckled before leaving the room, making sure to lock it from outside.

Diana let out a heavy breath as she got herself up. She needed a bath really bad....and food. Hopefully Leonid would not take her word seriously and bring her some food instead.

Her knees were weak, and her vision was forming black dots as she stood. Slowly making her way to the washroom, she caught her reflection in the mirror and tears pooled her eyes. This was it.. She was going to die in here without seeing her emerald.  She promised herself to go back to him safe and sound, but she failed...so fast.

Holding onto the necklace he gave her, she slipped out of her skimpy dressing and walked into the shower, turning on the water and letting the hot liquid hit her skin...streaming along with her tears.

Once she was done, she dried her hair and searched the closet for any clothes, grateful when she found an oversized shirt that reached her knees.

She plopped herself back to bed, as the door opened almost immediately, revealing Leonid and...

Oh thank God . Her stomach growled as she eyed the tantalizing delicacy being set infront of her.

"Easy there, you don't wanna get choked on that " He winked suggestively, but Diana simply rolled her eyes and ignored him, focusing on her marinated chicken.

"We would look so perfect together, you know " He reached out his hand and rubbed circles on her thigh, making her tense. She was weak and helpless, and only hoped Leonid wouldn't have any crooked thoughts...God knows she wouldn't be able to save herself.

She gulped, thinking about ways to change the subject before it gets any more weird.

"What did you mean when you said-"

"When i said you don't know the truth? " He interrupted, and she nodded.

His expression changed and he stood up, frightening Diana. It was not him she was scared of right now, but what he knew..and she didn't.

"You're so naive and blinded by trust that you can never notice who the real enemy is Diana...and you think I'm here to hurt you or take advantage of you because you think I'm the enemy.. How interesting " He laughed humorlessly.

"If you're not going to hurt me then why am I here"

"Because I'm trying to protect you "
