Sophie's POV (continued):

"Never have I ever dared the rest of us to try and make me laugh," Keefe finished.

I paused. "Wait, so you guys have to try and make me laugh?"

Keefe nodded. "Yeah."

I grinned. "Bring it on," I said confidently. I had excellent self-control. What? I do.

Biana tried. Nothing

Tam tried. Nope.

Linh and Wylie tried. It didn't work.

Fitz tried, and I grinned but managed to stop myself from laughing.

Dex was even closer. It took almost all of my self-control to refrain from laughing.

Now it was Keefe's turn. "Think you can do any better?"

He smirked.

Marella's POV:

I watched as Keefe whispered something into her ear. Sophie's hands flew up to her mouth, but a giggle had already escaped.

"Oh, come on," Fitz said exasperatedly.

"Of course," Dex muttered, but in a teasing way.

I gently nudged him. I pointed and held up 2 fingers.

Dex grinned. "Yeah, I  was 2nd closest."

Sophie was still chuckling.

"There's no way it could've been that funny," Wylie argued.

"Inside joke," Keefe smirked.

"Okay, okay, my turn," Sophie said. "Never have I ever gone a night without makeup."

Biana looked horrified. "WHAT?"

"That's the dare, you gotta do it," Keefe said.

"Don't worry, you look good without makeup," Tam said. Then he blushed as if he'd realized what he said.

"Fine," Biana said, looking at Tam. She went to the bathroom and came out with no makeup.

Dex pointed at his watch. "10 minutes are up," he said.

I let out a huge breath. "Thank god. Hey, do you guys wanna sleep now, or play another game? There's no way I'm risking somebody daring me to stop talking for another 10 minutes."

Biana paused. "Ooh, what about that game we played at our girls-only sleepover?"

"Wink Assassin or the makeover thing?" I asked.

"Wink Assassin, although now I kinda want to do the makeover thing," Biana replied, grinning.

"Ooh, that was fun," Linh said, clapping her hands together.

"What's Wink Assassin?" Dex asked.

"It's another human game where somebody, the narrator, chooses an assassin by tapping someone on the head and the person he chooses 'kills' people by winking at him. The narrator also chooses a detective, and the detective has to guess who the assassin is, but they only have 3 guesses." I explained.

"Oh, and the game ends when either the detective guesses the assassin or the assassin 'kills' everyone," Linh added.

"The more dramatic you 'die', the better," Sophie finished.

"Sounds fun," Keefe grinned.

"Okay, then who wants to be the narrator?" Fitz asked.

"I'll do it," Fitz said. We all agreed and closed our eyes.

"One tap is the assassin, two is the detective," Wylie decided.

A few moments passed, and Wylie said, "Open your eyes."

"Detective goes in the middle," Sophie reminded.

Dex scooted into the middle of the circle, moving the lantern out of the way.

We all stared at each other. A few moments passed.

Suddenly, Keefe groaned and flopped back shouting, "The pain, oh, the pain!!"

Sophie and I giggled. Dex narrowed his eyes and glanced to the side. He pointed at Linh. "Are you the assassin?"

"Nope, sorry. Two guesses left," Linh chided.

Biana gasped and fell into Tam's arms. "Goodbye, my love," she sighed dramatically, then closed her eyes. I knew she was probably acting, but something in Tam's gaze made me giddy. He actually likes her. Aww... that's so sweet.

Dex narrowed his eyes. "Wylie?"

"Yup, you got me," Wylie nodded.

"So Dex is the new narrator now," Linh said.

We closed our eyes, and I felt two taps on my head.

"Open your eyes," Dex said.

I scooted to the middle of the circle and stared at my friends. Which one of them is the assassin?

I waited.

Keefe's POV:

I saw Fitz wink at Sophie, and five seconds later she clutched her chest.

Catch me, she transmitted to. She swayed to the side and fell into my arms.

"No, don't leave me, Foster," I fake-wailed. I pressed my forehead to hers and let out a strangled sob.

"Say goodbye to Iggy for me," she whispered. Then, with a shuddery gasp, she closed her eyes.
