Hannah "Please Hannah," he said and pulled away from the kiss and a little tear escaped his eye. "I can't say anything right now. But we'll see what I say after tonight"
"What do you mean?" "You are going to explain yourself over dinner. And I'm suggesting that we have dinner at your place. I don't want to cry or talk out loud in public. So your place at 7 pm"
I turned around and walked into the store that Anna went into. I searched for her in the store and I found her trying on some sunglasses. "Anna," I said and pulled her arm "You won't believe what just happen" "Are you okay?" She tilted down her head and looked at me through the edge of the sunglasses. "I- I don't know. When you walked into this store he pulled out a velvet box and proposed to me. He said that he can't live without me and then he kissed me"
"Wait what?!" She said shocked and took off the sunglasses and placed them in their place. "He did what?!" "Yeah, he kind of proposed to me. But I said that I can't do it. Then he said that I can. Then he kissed me. And we are going to talk about everything over dinner. Or, he is going to explain himself over dinner tonight"
"Then you better put in something sexy. Common" she grabbed my hand and led me through the shop and gathered a few outfits on our way to the dressing room. "Take these and try them on" she handed me the pile of clothes and pushed me into one of the fitting rooms.
"Why do I have to look hot when I'm going to have dinner with him?" "So he can regret that he has lost you. And that you can feel like a savage when you say that you won't give him another chance" she poked in her head and looked at me. I didn't look up at her through the mirror in front of me. I just looked at my dress. "Hannah, don't tell me you are going to give him another chance. He lied in your face Hannah"
"Yeah, I know. But I miss him so much. I fucking slept with Alex because I missed Shawn so much" I quickly got quiet since I haven't told her about that part yet. "Wait what?" She said and stepped into the fitting room. "You slept with Alex? Alex from last night?" I looked down, trying to avoid her eyes, and nodded.
"Yeah," I said embarrassingly. "Now can you go out? I won't buy this dress anyway. I'm gonna wear a casual outfit. Not this tight dress" Anna walked out of the fitting room "You know that I don't like this Hannah"
"What?" "You know what I'm talking about" "Yeah I know. But I still love him and you know it" I said standing in the fitting room.
"You have to let him go Hannah. Just hear him out tonight and then leave. Don't come back to him because you don't deserve him. You deserve someone much better"
Deep down I know she has right. But I don't feel that right now. I have missed him so much these past weeks. But I have just told myself that I don't miss him so I can easily move on. I would lie if I said that I haven't thought of him every day.
"Hannah promise me that," she said when I stepped out of the fitting room. "I can't promise anything Anna. If you loved someone as much as I love him, wouldn't you go back to him?" She got quiet and I could tell by her face that she was on my side. "Exactly, so let me do whatever I want. I appreciate that you are trying to help me. But I'm 20 almost 21. So I have to do this on my own"
-A few hours later-
I looked at myself in the mirror one last time and I was proud of my choice of outfit
