The Play

"I have decided the theme of your class play , with the help of a few classmates " I looked at Neville with a proud expression on my face "I've allocated each one of you to a character you will be playing . There are 9 actors throughout the play , whilst there are only 3 main characters . Some of you might be allocated to a more behind-the-scenes role than rather on stage"
I looked at their bored faces "the character sketch is outside my classroom , any further questions will be answered tomorrow when we start rehearsals. Class dismissed"

I heard the gasps and cheers from outside the classroom, I smiled looking down at my work - they aren't going to enjoy this I thought . The students were allocated to their characters as follows

"What ! " I heard from outside a girl scream , she marched into my classroom unannounced, walked right up to my desk and blurted out "why am I in the left overs !" Lavender Brown screamed at me, I looked up at her sternly " Miss Brown - " she cut me off

"I demand to be in the cast no matter what the cost , I have brilliant acting skills that you do not know of "she huffed throwing her arms in the air

I did not like her attitude, so I stood up , walked deadly close to her , looking down at her whimpering face " Miss Brown , you do not make a scene like that in my classroom, having the audacity to walk in the way you did was highly inappropriate of you - I am ashamed " giving her the guilty verdict treatment , my voice was still " if you are wondering why I put you into the script writing section - is because you're poem was very well structured with minor mistakes of language, for that I specifically moved you there , as you would be a great tool for the section of the plays language skills - you may leave now " I said calmly turning my back to here

She was speechless , she opened and closed her mouth wondering what to say - she looked like a gold fish in water , just standing still yet the only thing that was moving was her mouth - funny her hair was the same color as her bright red cheeks at the moment . She hadn't realized my method of sorting the students , underestimating my abilities
- she sheepishly walked out of the classroom without saying another word

I was watching them as they laughed , mocking laughing with their accents . Boys I thought shaking my head smiling at them , it was cringe worthy to watch them act - yet it was all good fun

Today was when the students would get into their roles and start acting , planing scripts for each of their characters , role playing if needed - only if they actually watched the movie for homework as I instructed them all to do yesterday. I suspected that half of the class didn't even know there was work to be done considering and they weren't paying attention.

I was walking around the class , inspecting the progress- they've been put into groups according to how often they appear on stage , in result they tend to excel better when remembering their lines this way rather than playing the play over and over . There was a good buzz in the atmosphere , most were really getting into their roles - acting out poses and dramatic stances - while some , were up to mischief, causing chaos .. Of course
