All Aboard!

Chapter 6

Once aboard the Ariel the crew of the SS Nyx stood together behind Nico and waited for his command. Their eyes darted about the deck, taking in the various strange artifacts strewn everywhere with apprehension. Leo stood in front of them saying "right well I know this is going to sound strange to you but yachts don't really require that much maning. Annabeth will show the ladies to their quarters while Frank here will show the gentlemen to theirs. Nico, a word if you please?"
Nico nodded and watched his crew head off to their quarters, waiting for Leo to stop fidgeting.
"So I know you were a commandant on your ship and I don't expect your crew to follow my orders, mostly because I don't really know how ships work, so i was wonderingifyou'dliketobeCaptainmaybe?"
'Pardon me my good sir, I do believe i missed that last part?' Leo's face had gone almost as red as his hat and he took a calming breath before repeating himself, "would you please be the captain of the ship?"
Nico stared at Leo in stunned silence while Leo looked anywhere but at Nico.
Nico reached out and placed his hands on Leo's upper arms. When Leo finally looked at him he said 'but what will you do?'
"I'm actually a pretty good cook and everybody's got to eat." Leo said with a shrug.
'If you are entirely sure, then I would be honoured to helm this ship.'
And with that Nico let his hands fall, a slight tinge to his cheeks at having held onto Leo for so long.
"I'm positive, I have full faith in you."

"So these are the girls sleeping quarters, we're two to a room and the first 3 rooms are ours. The fourth room is a bathroom and the other end of the corridor is the boys sleeping quarters."
'We have seperate quarters that only two of us are to share?' Reyna asked Annabeth with awe in her voice. 'Upon the SS Nyx only the captain had seperate sleeping quarters, the rest of us had to huddle together for warmth!'
Annabeth looked at the three girls before her with slight pity before smiling and leading them through another doorway.
"This is the entertainment center, this is where we hang out when we're not busy doing shows or, you know, jumping through time."
'Hang out? I'm afraid I do not know this unfamiliar phrase?'
Hazel looked to Reyna for support and found that she looked just as confused by Annabeth's words.
"Don't worry about it, when the time comes you'll know what it means." She turned to leave before turning back and announcing "dinner starts at 6, trust me you want to get there before the boys if you wanna eat!"

Leo lead Nico down to the Captains quarters but stopped him just before he could open the door.
"If you would prefer to keep your quarters I can simply bunk with my crewmates?"
'No it's not that, it's just... I didn't think anybody would be coming to my room so it's kinda messy.'
"I have lived aboard a ship for almost 3 years now, I am sure you have nothing to worry about."
