I woke up early the next morning and got ready for meeting Hikaru at the park. I didn't feel like troubling with contacts so decided to just put my glasses on. I put on a pair of black leggings, brown ankle boots and a white shirt with a rose printed onto the top pocket. I then put on my comfy black jacket and was on my way to the park. I got multiple looks as I roamed the streets, but ignored them. I soon found myself at the park and spotted Hikaru just entering from the other side.
He was wearing a white shirt with blue jeans and a red jacket.
I rushed to the fountain and he had the same idea.
"Hey Hikaru." I beamed.
"Hey Kino." He smiled back, before his face seemed to drop and go pink. "You... You're wearing your glasses again."
"Yeah. I didn't feel like faffing with my contacts this morning. Do they look weird?"
"No! Not at all!" He blurted. "I-I mean. Yeah, no. Y-you look nice. Really... really nice." His face got more red and I had to hold back a laugh at how cute and flustered he was getting.
"So what am I doing here?" I finally asked.
"Oh yeah. Its a surprise! Now follow me."
Without waiting for a reply, he grabbed my hand and started pulling me along.
I followed him to this mysterious surprise he had waiting for me. It took what finally seemed like forever until we reached our destination. It was a really fancy looking restaurant.
"I know this place." I began. "It's
L'être amié. (Meaning 'The Beloved') It's one of the most expensive restaurant in town. I could never get in there with the cash I have." I told him."Why not?" He asked stupidly.
"Why? Cuz you'd have to be rich to..." Then it hit me.
We stopped here for a reason. A damn good reason. 'You'd have to be rich'? Last time I checked I am the girlfriend to a very rich, and dare I say it handsome, guy.
"Hikaru...?"
"Yes?"
"We're going in there aren't we?" I half questioned with fear.
"Yup" he stated, dragging me through the magnificent double doors.
I looked around and examined all the beautiful antique pieces from the display cases to the paintings. I could feel my anxiety start to kick up again when I saw hoe many customers there were. Rich, fancy and noble customers.
'Oh God. I really don't fit here.'
I watched as Hikaru spoke to the guy at the desk who then led us to a separate dining area. The room was about the same size as the main dining area but had a stage. So I guessed it was a sort of event/party room. In the middle of this room was a small table with two chairs. I looked up to Hikaru and he looked back down at me with a wide, proud smile.
We sat down at our table, which was the only one in the room, and I gave a sigh of relief.
"Thanks" I muttered. "I thought that I would have to eat in front of all those high class people for a second there."
"No problem. I thought it would be kinda awkward with all those higher class rich people in there. So I thought this room would be better." He smiled. "It's supposed to just be for events but my mother is friends with the owner so he made an exception for us."
"Wow. Being rich and famous sure does have it's perks..."
"I suppose. But it's also got it's downsides too."
