Jaella's POV

We land an hour after I finish the perfectly made coffee, definitely the boost that I needed. With a new spring in my step I walk over with JJ to join the other agents. They are standing beside the classic black SUVs, government issued.

Hotch begins to instruct us on what to do. "Morgan and JJ go to the Burns household to question the husband on what he saw when he arrived home and then onto forensics. Emily and Rossi make your way to Evan Lewis' office to see if he recently got promoted and if there was any jealousy around the office. Reid and Fox come with me and we will go to question the White parents at their home."

The ride is mostly silent, apart from the changing of gears and turning of file pages.

We pull into the driveway of a large light blue house. As we make our way up to the front door I walk behind Spencer. I feel slightly nervous. This isn't what I normally do. Usually I am set up in a scene and simply play a role. Flick my hair a couple of times, speak slowly and softly and pretend not to notice when mens' eyes rake up and down my body.

Instead now, I have no facade to hide behind. I begin to pulse my thumb with my other fingers.

Spencer seems to notice my nerve clad actions as we are welcomed to enter by the once parents of Eva White. He gives me a small reassuring smile and then walks into the front room with Hotch to discuss matters with the parents. I don't think that my talents will be very useful in a family home so I decide to look upstairs, after getting permission of course.

As I walk past the open rooms I come across one belonging to a teenager. I can tell this because of the pictures and band posters on the yellow painted walls. I walk in to simply glance around. I don't really expect to find anything to help and am about to leave when I spot a colourful rainbow pin on the vanity by the door. Bingo.

I hurry downstairs and almost stumble with the speed I'm going at. Although, with magical ninja skills that I never knew I had, I mange to catch myself before I fall embarrassingly on my face. When I look up I see two wide hazel eyes looking back down at me. I stare for a second or two longer than I should and suddenly realise how close I am to him.

I clear my throat and seem to knock him out of his own trance. Strange. Spencer's cheeks tint slightly pink as he takes a step back.

"Em, I um, have a question to ask Eva's parents."

"Oh uh, ok. I believe Hotch is just about to finish up in there."

I smile a thanks and walk into the room with Spencer close behind.

"Erm, Agent Hotch, by any chance would I be able to ask them a quick question?"

He looks up at me with a raised brow before agreeing. I sit down in front of Mr. and Mrs. White.

"By any chance was your daughter attracted to the same sex, um, or apart of the LGBT+ community?" I ask, trying to be as sensitive as possible with the two grieving parents.

"Agent are you sure that this is necessary?" Hotch questions me quietly.

"Yes in fact. She is- excuse me, was bisexual. Didn't go 'round telling loads though, I'd say that only a few close ones knew," the father replies.

Hotch gently places his hand on my arm and guides me out of the room after I thank the parents.

"I don't see how that question was necessary for the case. We have to be meticulous and choose what we say carefully," he says to me in a hushed tone. He looks behind him and says goodbye to the remaining White family.

We get into the black SUV to drive away.

"Sir, I know that this isn't really my line of work and I apologise if my question was rash but I think that it can help the investigation," I say as I turn to him.

"How so?" He questions.

Spencer thankfully catches on to my train of thought and decides to take the liberty of answering the question. I relax slightly, glad that the spotlight is now off me.

"In fact, the daughter's sexuality may have been enough of a motive for the unsub to kill. If he believes that it is a sin, it may be the reason for him choosing this particular girl."

Hotch looks over to me and nods.

"I can send this information to Garcia and we will make sure the others question for if the victim had committed a so called 'sin'." He puts this word in air quotas. "Good work Agent Fox."

Hellooo. Our girl is on the case. Look at her solving shit. Byeee
