I walk inside our house, greeted by a delicious smell. My mom is in the kitchen preparing dinner for tonight.
"Hey Mom!" I remove my shoes and place my keys on the counter.
"Hi Brianna! I am making Spaghetti for dinner. I hope you're hungry?" She looks at me.
"Thanks, it smells really good." I walk over to her.
"Uhm mom... Sheri is coming over at 7. I hope that's okay for you?" I ask her, while taking a look at the sauce she is preparing.
"Sure honey. She can have dinner at ours, if she wants? You know she is always welcome here." Letting me know, adding another pinch of salt.
"I'll let her know. Also..." I drift off, looking at her innocently.
My mother raises her eyes at me,"What do you need? Money?" She laughs. "I always know when my children want something. You have that look on your face."
I chuckle at her comment,"Mom... There is a party tonight. At the Walkers. We were wondering if we could go?" I give her a big grin, hoping that she would be okay with it.
She puts her hand on her hip. "Sure honey. It's Friday. You guys go have fun. Just make sure to get as much homework done as possible before that."
I walk over to her, giving her a kiss on the cheek,"Thank you mom. I will!"
Going up the stairs towards my room, I text Cheri.
