"What about that party, Bri?" Monty questions

"What about that party, Bri?" Monty questions. He joined us just a few seconds ago, staring at me intently.

Startled, I look innocently at both. "uhm, when we... uhm, smoked weed outside the pool-house. You know, the... good old days."

I put out my cigarette on the ground. Monty raises his eyebrow at my statement, looking at his teammate. Scott simply shrugs.

"Well Bri... I think we had a great time," the tanned jock says to me, "Scotty, you mind giving us a minute?", turning to his friend, signaling that he wants him to leave.

Scott looks at me shortly, then taking a look at him,"No, Monty. I'll be inside. Zach is probably looking for me. He wanted to play beer pong; hope you'll join us later."

Then, he leaves the two of us alone.

Monty stands in front of me, looking into my eyes.

After a short silence, he simply says, "I want you Brianna. You have no clue how I've been feeling lately."

I sigh heavily, looking everywhere but his face, "Monty... we are not a thing anymore. Can you please give me some space? You've been acting really weird lately."

Taking a step back, he puts his hands on the top of his head, searching my eyes. I glance at him. "Sure, if space is all you want. I can give you that. But think about it."

I nod, "thanks... It feels like you've been following me, and it's kinda scaring me. You know, after everything that happened to me... You should know better."

I got a little mad at him. But he should know better. After we started dating last year, I told him about my past, and the reason why we left Fresno and moved to Crestmont. I didn't feel safe anymore. And now he seems to be everywhere I am going?

"Shit Bri... sorry. I didn't mean it to come off this way. I am-" He starts, but I did not want to let him finish. "Whatever Monty. I'll be inside. See you around."

I walk back inside, quickly pouring myself yet another drink. Feeling a little tipsy, I make my way over to the living room, in search for Sheri.
