I woke up, a newfound determination coursing through my veins. A smirk spread across my face, like butter being smeared on a piece of toast. I would finally be able to get revenge on Her Majesty. I'll make sure her death is painful and slow. I walked into the kitchen, turning on the light. I grabbed a pan and some eggs, deciding that I would make omelets. "Venus? Why are you up so early?" A voice called out. I turned around, surprised to see Ashlie awake at this time.
She usually slept in but today, she was awake very early. "I always wake up this early. I'm also making some breakfast for everyone." I said, nonchalantly. Ashlie yawned in response, sitting down at the small table. "Do you think the others will help us?" I questioned her. It was silent for a while, besides the sizzling of the eggs, until I realized that Ashlie had fallen asleep. I sighed, she was probably asleep the whole time.
~~~~~It had been an hour since I made breakfast, though no one was awake to eat, so I went outside and took a walk. I watched as the sun started to come up, making the sky a beautiful shade of orange and purple. I continued on my walk, wondering how this plan would go. Then, the perfect idea came to mind and quickly rushed back to the cabin.
"Guys!" I yelled out to my friends. I roughly yanked the door open and ran in. "Guys!" I called, again. They were sitting at the table, enjoying the breakfast I made. Then, they turned towards me. "Venus? What is it?" Max inquired. I harshly inhaled and exhaled oxygen, leaning my hands against my knees. "We...need to stop Her Majesty and I have a plan to stop her." I said, hoping Max and Clint would help us.They exchanged glances, while Asher and Ashlie looked at me with hopeful eyes. "You want us to help?" Clint asked, gesturing to everyone. I nodded. He turned to everyone else, giving them a questioning face. Asher and Ashlie nodded their heads, while Max looked like he was still deciding. Max and Clint turned to each other, having a quiet conversation to themselves, then turned back to me. "Ok, we'll help you." Clint said.
I smiled, explaining my plan and assigning each of them their roles.
~~~~~
It was eight o'clock at night. It had gotten darker and I snuck around camp, carefully approaching the run-down building. This building belonged to the Malfunctions. I silently pulled the door open, making slow steps to one of their closets. I opened the closet door and gingerly took a hanger with a red uniform attached to it.I quickly but quietly exited the cabin and got back to mine. I changed into the red uniform, having Ashlie adjust a brunette colored wig on my head. She gave me hazel contacts and we decided that my alias would be 'Jennifer Kadence'. I walked to Her Majesty's office, knocking lightly. "Enter." Her voice erupted from the other side. I opened the door and stood in front of me.
She gave me a bored look. "What do you want, Malfunction?" She asked, harshly. I started to sweat. "Uhm...I need—I mean—I would request th-that I could meet with you...tomorrow after the assembly?" I asked her, trying to act as if I was a Malfunction. She rolled her eyes. "Whatever. Now get out of my office." She growled.
~~~~~I sighed, as I hugged my knees to my chest. I was sweating so much that I thought my bedsheets were soaked. Why do I feel like this plan will fail? Part of me says to just give up but I can't. I have to avenge everybody who has been cursed with living in this camp. In the morning, I would have to distract Her Majesty, while the others would take out the Megs and Elites.
I'm not prepared for this. I won't ever be prepared but I have to suck it up and save these poor Malfunctions, Freshies, and campers. I can't let them be twisted with Her Majesty's sick ways. I will save them, whether I make it out alive or not. I'll save them and they'll be grateful. Everybody will praise me. I'll be their new queen. I started to laugh like I was a maniac. I couldn't contain this surge of insane laughter.I would be freed and I'd save them. They'd love me and want me as their superior. I'd be their everything. My giggles got louder. I put my hand over my mouth to prevent waking my friends up. They would have a long day tomorrow. I sighed, my fit of laughter over, and I laid back. I needed my rest, too, since I would also have a long day. "When tomorrow comes, I'll be their new superior; I'll be the queen," I whispered as I fell into unconsciousness.
~~~~~
I woke up, remembering that I had to pretend to be a Malfunction. I made myself look like a Malfunction, then snuck out the window, running to the Malfunctions' cabin. I waited until they exited and walked behind the last one. As we entered the assembly room, I felt out of place. "Welcome back, Malfunctions!" Her Majesty exclaimed. They looked to the floor in shame, while I scowled at her. "Aw, so sad." She mocked.When everyone got to the assembly, she gave her annoying speech of remembering that we're a family and that we shouldn't follow the Malfunctions' path to disobeying our cleanse. I rolled my eyes. When the assembly was over, I stayed behind to 'speak' with Her Majesty. "Alright, Malfunction, what do you want?" She asked, venom lacing her words. A pang of fear washed through me. I blinked twice, then gave a nervous slight smile.
"I wanted to say.....do you know my name?" I asked. She gave me a 'seriously' look. "Of course, I know everyone." She said, confident in her answer. I raised my eyebrow. "Oh yeah? What's my name?" I pushed. She glared. "Penny—wait no! Harley." I shook my head. "Jesse?....Karen...Heather!......Eleanor?.....uhm....I-I don't know your name." She said. I scoffed. "Wow, you said you know everyone's name but you don't know mine?" I asked, pretending to be offended."What is your name?" She asked. "Jennifer Kadence," I said, hoping she wouldn't know that it's just an alias. "Jennifer, huh...? Hmm...Well, that's not why we're here, right? So, tell me. Why are we here?" She asked me. I coughed nervously. "Uh....-" Just as I was going to answer, someone interrupted me. "Venus! NOW!!!" They shouted.
